GB December 1st - January 12th

Have you ever been in the Alps and wanted to take a piece of it home with you? GMK Alpine is a Keycap set revolving around the beautiful Swiss Alps.
In Switzerland not only do we enjoy hiking, skiing, climbing or touring the mountains but the many different mountain animals enjoy the peaceful life up there and the Farmers watch their livestock while the herd dog plays around in the grass.
The Swiss mountains are a major part of my culture and something I would love to share with you. Even during tragic times, the Swiss alps helped defend Switzerland and gave anyone a hard time invading this beautiful country. They served as not only a shield but also as a bunker to keep the whole population safe.
This is my way of capturing the magnificent alps.

The Novelties are based on real Mountains:
Esc is the Famous “Matterhorn”
Enter is from “Berner Oberland”: Eiger – Mönch – Jungfrau
This was a project that I was able to put a ton of time into because of quarantine and allowed me to truly put the beauty of the alps into my design.
I have spent much time practicing and growing my skills and truly hope you enjoy.

Colors:
For the colors I wanted a simple look that kind of resembles a mountain.
The 4012 is a gray with a hint of purple as to not make this a boring gray set.
The WS2 resembles the Snow and the beautiful Edelweiss, the national Swiss flower.

It’s a pretty set, very calm and understated. I can’t say I’m entirely sold on the mountain novelties, being silhouettes they don’t immediately jump out as being mountain ranges to me.

I'm going to echo what a few other people have said so far and suggest that at least a few of the white accent keys find their way into the base kit.

Other than that, I'm also going to suggest that you exchange the ISO-UK-specific keys for more basic ISO support: ISO Enter, 1.25u Shift, R3 \|, R4 <>. This will make a room for a few other, potentially more commonly used keys in base — such as the white accents, or R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn.
It's also more thematically appropriate, since I don't recall many people in Switzerland using UK layouts (coincidentally, Swiss layouts do use R4 <> keys).

he does have a ral book and it was color matched might just be a bad description

Yeah looking at it, it defiantly is more purple than gray. I don't know why I described it the way I did. As Swishy mentioned, I do have a RAL fan and have color matched the set.

Looking great, congrats on making it to IC. I would try flipping the shading on the novelties around to dominate the design, it may give them some additional heft befitting a mountain.

Also I got a few responses on forms to add novelties, I want to keep this set simple novelty wise but I do have some ideas which I hope I could do with some artisan collabs :) I think they wouldn't be as good if it's just printed on a key cap.

In for this! Love the subtle color. Any considerations for a different color scheme for the modifier keys? I have a creme-ish color in mind that I feel like may complement the existing alpha keys' colors.

I don't plan on doing different colored alphas or modifiers. I want to keep this set monochrome with accents.

Yeah, if I didn't miscount, the Swiss layout has 15 unique keys which would make Nord kit prices higher and it's not worth it sadly. :(

Yes i understand that. Because people wouldn't buy this kit because the price is higher than others.
I don't know this buisnes at all, but why not make a render of a CH kit, and a high MOQ (Could be 4 times less than norde or something like that) ?

I really like this set but the lack of a white spacebar and white arrow keys in the base kit feels like it forces me to buy the other kits just for those. I know that you are going for a more monochrome look but I would appreciate it if it has a little more white in the base kit than just the escape and enter keys.

Many kits don't include accented space bar because many users don't use them and people would rather use the alpha colored space bar. As for the arrow keys, I have a small amount of novelties and am not currently planning on adding more (this might change), so I would like to keep arrow keys in there. I'm also trying to keep base kit prices as low as I can and adding space bar and arrow keys will make base kit a bit more expensive and force people who want the monochrome look to purchase an expensive set, to then not use the accents. :D I hope this made sense.

I'm very happy to have gotten Candykeys on board with this project! They will help me with various stuff which I'm very grateful for :D

Thank you for candykeys. They are the only EU vendor to not charge EU-VAT for shipments to switzerland! I always use them if i can.

Can you include ilumkb for asia? They have a credit card payment method, my PayPal was hacked i lost $1,350 and i can't get in touch with PayPal, so i would like to avoid using PayPal from now on. KBDFans don't have a credit card payment option.

Very nice colors. As for an ISO enter novelty, maybe you could make a sketch of the Aletsch gletsjer? I remember an almost 90 degree turn in its path, which could fit that key nicely. Just some thought that popped in my head. Love the mountain novelties :)

The idea is cool! I'm having trouble thinking of a good way to execute it though. I am currently thinking of a good iso novelty though!

• On the other hand, I'm not sure that second 2u and second 1u white spaces are worthwhile inclusions in the Spacebars kit, as they are only used on 40% ortho boards. Either removing the second pair of 2u and 1u keys, or replacing them with a 3u spacebar (which is used on some 40% and ≥60% boards) might be a better option.

1. Done, I don't know why I didn't do this from the start? I guess I wasn't paying attention
2. Asked the 40% Discord, they agreed, Removed them from the Spacebar kit, As for the 3u Spacebars, besides you no one has asked for them so I'll keep it out for now!

I'm very happy to announce that I will be working with Keebstuff on a limited number of high quality custom cables!
He puts amazing and careful work into each cable and they end up looking fantastic!

The cables will be coiled with the coiled side being Purple and the non coiled side will be white. They will come in both LEMO and SF10 Connectors for you to choose!
I will get some pictures end of this week or early next week so meanwhile, enjoy this cable he made for GMK Masterpiece!

I took a quick look at the Norde kit, and there are a few things that can be improved upon:

- R1 '? is not used in any of the usual layouts for "Norde" or "NorDeUK" kits (instead, it's used in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian layouts). It can be taken out with no issue.

- English (UK) is partially supported, as the kit already contains R1 `¬| (which should be corrected to `¬¦), R1 2", R1 3£, R1 4$€ and R3 '@ ; all is missing are the R3 #~ and R4 \| keys. This kit might as well be called "NordeUK", for that matter.

- The keys ◌́◌̀, ◌́◌̀| and \◌̀◌́ all show the acute accent as a low mark. This might just be a render artifact, but do ensure that remains only as so.
- Same goes for the positioning of the £ sign in 3#£.

- Since R4 <> is in the base kit already, it can chopped off the Norde kit.
- Consider adding the numpad comma keys.

In my opinion (and from the few ways I've tried), putting a Swiss flag on a key cap would looks out of place, odd, and doesn't 100% fit the key cap theme as its supposed to be about the alps and mountains, not about Switzerland itself (If that were the case I would've made it a red and white set)

I am however going to try to incorporate the Swiss flag or something more Swiss in the Desk mats so keep a lookout for those when they're done :D

Agree. A swiss flag doesnt fit the theme. I was just trying to find a way how it may fit... :-) Also bored at work.

I really like this set and especially the colour, but I am not sure about having the symbol and text on enter, backspace, tap, capslock and shift. Personally I am more of a just the symbol guy and not both. Text and symbol looks a bit much for me, especially on tap. It is too much going on, on that key.

How is color matching going? I am a bit new but it seems GMK does a bit odd with pastels and wondered if you had chip samples to share?

Either way I love this set! It's really good I love uniform color sets/compat great work!

Added new, better renders, with more accurate colors.
Also did small kitting changes:
Changed Numbpad Symbols
Added Back arrow to 1.75u backspace
Removed R1 Back from 40% Kit
