Those lacking time, discipline, and any, ANY, writing utensil need not apply.  I would have to agree with you that it does require effort and I can only surmise that there are quite a few people out there allergic to it when it comes to getting hand-outs.

Quickly wrote some casual..  beware, the lines are emotional.. if you don't like emotional outbursty writing.. Don't read it..

There is also this thwarted-perception, that great writing is highly uniform..  that is only true of business hand...  it does not carry over for every occasion..

Done with Pencil..  no special tools.

Also, yes I intentionally spelled it penmenship.. because it's never been about 1 guy.

I'm confused.  This is a handwriting thread...  Anyone can enter with any piece of handwriting.  There are no rules anywhere that state it must be done with X, Y, or Z utensil.  Just write to someone you care about and share your reasons for being thankful here to the best of your ability.

Yup.. what I said.. penmenship is about balancing line width, proportions and shapes..

That is the CORE concept..

I ended up getting a handwritten reply because of my letter.  Just finished a return letter.  I think this is going to be a thing.  Thanks again Binge.

I love this little exercise :)  You will be rewarded for your efforts no matter if it's by me or just by the act of writing.  It's not an anesthetized sort of contest, term lightly being used here, because the results don't just end with a keycap prize.  Happy to have been a catalyst of sorts.

::EDIT:: to anyone looking to write in.

I know that I've said just write a letter, but also please give writing with a fountain pen a shot.  A pack of 12 pilot varsity pens costs $2 USD.  They are refillable if you ever really like them, and honestly you won't regret it.  The important thing in my eyes is that a bit of effort goes into reaching out to someone you know and being thankful for them in a sort of "old-timey" way.  Like BlueNalgene has just shared it makes a difference and has more of an impact.

it's obvious that you are awesome and have issues.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Agreed with iri, thanks for the pictures. Hows the Omas feel in hand? And thanks for sharing the note!

Overall the Omas has a grip similar to a Safari's because of the shape.
Very light in the hand due to the cotton resin, but the edges will likely bother some people.
Although I am pretty much a huge Omas fanboy, I'm not too fond of the 360 (although I would still like one, perhaps the turquoise demonstrator, for collection).
Having an old style Ogiva and a Milord (smaller Paragon), I do prefer them when it comes to both appearance and handling.
