Keyboard of the Month - April - Nominations
« on: Mon, 24 April 2017, 14:42:58 »
Happy Monday everyone and welcome to April's nomination thread!

Last month's winner was Felion's Likör47

The nomination thread will be up for around two weeks! Hopefully we can find some boards as good as last month's for your vote!
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Has Science Gone Too Far?

Clearly science has not gone far enough! There are NEVER enough NES themed things, including Classic Mini NESeseses!  ;D

Another +1 for, if anything, probably actually being more available than the actual NES mini.

As funny as this board is I don't think the user owns it. Can we really vote for a board that doesn't exist?

That thread has been updated since I last checked it, I didn't realize any of the mods actually worked.

I've always wondered with this, are the nominated boards expected to be in some way DiY, innovative, customized (aside from caps and premade things), or modded.

Or are some boards nominated for looks alone?

Both modded/custom and stock have been nominated and won.

I still have to wire my numberpad... and then "git gud" at programming... My main keyboard section has sat for a YEAR with no firmware!  :'(

You can nominate a board for whatever reason you like! You don't even need to give a reason. If you like it, chances are others will too.

+++1 for keyboard porn. It even has a pair of XXX keys!
Is the XXX key for hardcore keyboard porn? Key cap sets, teardowns and taking the tops off? Showing off the bottoms of those PCBs and hand wired matrix boards?
