Here is a short IC form for you:

https://goo.gl/forms/FCM1S8zj8sIvHtne2
how expensive will the full brass option be?

Don't need to know, just open your heart (and your wallet) and pick that full brass option  ;)

I think PC is the way to go. Brass just tarnishes easily and I don't see the point of having an all brass board, but that is just only my opinion. People may like it, but I love me some 66

Not sure if the IC form was abused initially or something but is really strange that PC has a 40% (unexpected i would say).
To be honest, if that's the only option, i pass. Not going to spend more than alu for "deluxe plastic".

Regarding your concern, full brass should be also PVD and also any brass would be covered to prevent oxidation.

Hopefully, there will be multiple optiona to make the top choices happy with it.

Nothing unexpected about it. Polycarb boards are pretty hyped now a days.

Also having multiple options will be difficult with pricing and stuff. But we can also see what louis will open for us. The more the merrier of course.

any thoughts of having a polycarb version of this? and also options of other materials for the plate like copper, stainless steel and so on.... :D
Plate default will be brass. Stainless steel maybe cannot.
Polycarbonate body will be cool options ,how about raffles them?

@KaosJ, based on what Louis said (I quoted above) and what was on the google form, I'm pretty sure he was just exploring what people might want for a special limited number of boards which he would raffle off (poly or full brass). The main group buy would be normal aluminum versions. I'm sure he'll clarify but I don't think there's any reason for concern :).

Also, I'm hyped for the potential of a poly version!!

thanks for the answer @taropaste. YES, the main gb version will be:alum top and bottom case, Brass plate and weight. In IC form, raffles sale for PC or full brass version, i will do limited kits for raffles only.

correct me if i am wrong. I tot, type c can allow more current flow in to the circuit, but pcb doesn't have rgb underglow. Type C consider more secure and it is reversible(user friendly:P).

I have to give you props man.  From a design perspective you've nailed most every aspect in designing this case, the plate, the weight, the profile, keycap setting, I am very interested in your review of the prototype.  Judging based on the number of views on this IC, you'll have no issue with selling.  Good luck on the prototype!

Will you be stocking extra pcbs?

Having the type c port on the case makes it proprietary to the certain pcb you're using as no others are using type c

I'm really interested in this. I don't have anything in this layout and I'm super curious about gasket mount designs so I hope you're able to offer it in some nice fun pastel colors!
I'll be sad if it only comes in colors like black, red, and silver.

To be honest there are other type-c 65%.
Surely that's just a plus over the dinosaurs still using mini-usb in 2018 ;D

This isn't a 65% layout . The only 66% pcb that is readily available is the clueboard and that does not use usb c. It looks like the new clueboard low profile pcb is usb c but that one is also hotswap. I don't know if skully plans on releasing a non-hotswap with usb c anytime. Louis, I would honestly prefer the volcano remain compatible with the clueboard pcb. I don't have the most confidence in Percent's pcbs after what happened with the Canoe. I know there are some others who feel the same way but I don't know if that is the a lot of people. Maybe do another google form for usb c vs clueboard pcb compatibility? Lol.

I don't know ...obviously it's your decision. I'm just offering my opinion. By the way, thank you for being so responsive with your IC. You're doing a great job :thumb:.

IKR i think answering this while watching the Space65 mixed my thoughts :D

I agree about the percent part. I doubt it will happen again but why taking the risk. Better avoid unless we are talking about that sweet clear pcb, in that case i would take the risk.

The only thing that is on priority to me regarding the pcb is TYPE-C and QMK. Nothing else. I wouldn't buy any bootmapper pcb, probably same logic for the connector unless the design is really outstanding and blowing my mind.

I have the same opinion about Percent. The MAO Canoe I got had pcb issues (luckily I was able to fix it), and the quality of the finish is nothing compared to the China MAO version. I got the impression that they really don’t care about quality for int’l buyers as we won’t be able to chase them for issues.

That said, I’m avoiding Percent products like the plague, and honestly, will be a dealbreaker for me if they would be the pcb provider.

Actually they did all the free replacement when the pcb has problem (in new condition) in china domestic. But for international gb, i am not sure what is going on but sorry to heard that bro:(, PCB is the core for a keyboard and I'll give you a satisfactory answer in the end :)

Having the type c port on the case makes it proprietary to the certain pcb you're using as no others are using type c
Definitely will. Currently i am working closely with clueboard skully on the PCB also. Both of us want to provide high end quality product:D
Hmm in that case how about providing an option for the hotswap PCBs used for the clueboard LP? There's a split space version too.

will the losers of the brass version raffle  have a window to still pick up an aluminum version?
I want to go all in on a brass, but if i don’t get selected as a winner, i still want to be able to purchase an aluminum :D

Don't think you really need to worry about that.
I believed all these questions have been thought out before, he's very attentive to all these little details.

I'm new and I'm in!

Really hoped that it would have came in a full brass option instead of having to go through a raffle.

Looking forward to the GB e-mail!😁

We are hoping get some anodized colour samples from the factory. These would be to test the accuracy of anodizing of colours and are not the finalised colours of the Volcano660

I don't know if it has already been asked but is the GB FCFS or a limited time frame? If it's the latter count me in!
It must hit a minimum MoQ, and raffles for the limited quantity PC/Brass kits.

Would also like to know this. I was gonna buy a KOYU but this talked me out of it.
