This is kind of an insane deal. Even if you only need MX Red Switches it is worth it to buy and desolder them for another board. I got one for myself and several more for other friends late Christmas presents. I'll be giving the CPUs away here for people that can actually use them.

Eh, that's not so bad. This is the 3rd mechanical keyboard I've gotten this week >.< (I have a Filco Majestouch 2 with browns coming that my bf got me for Christmas and a Cooler Master QuickFire TK with blues I got for myself ).

If it said refurbished then they are probably just giving u old Rosewills that ppl returned as defective. Of which there is a constant, large supply.

My Rosewill started dying at less than 30 days old and is completely freaking out now.

But I need some $5.00 keycaps for conducting experiments so I would get some just for the caps.

NewEgg constantlys bombs my email address with ads. I have been reading every one very carefully looking for cheap keycaps. I never saw this ad in my mailbox. Someone posted it to GH 5 mins after I went to bed so I missed it.

Only the CPU was listed as refurbished, the board was listed as new.

Personally, I got one to test out reds on a full board, and I plan on harvesting them for future builds. So quality of the PCB is irrelevant to me.

Depends how much you shop on newegg. I do qutie a bit and the ads seem to get more 'tailored' to the type of stuff I have bought in the past. Though I do still get some of the generic ones for the 48hr sales on rice cookers and so on.
Really wish I would have seen this deal while it was still available. Defineatly could have done with such a good price on red switch for some projects.

These boards have a spotty history of PCB failure, and there are plenty of custom keyboards PCBs that are soon to be sold (Phantom, GH60, Korean customs) that require you to buy switches from somewhere. Which is a bit tricky in that most places don't sell cherry switches, or if they do, they're $.80/each and not necessarily the switch color you want.

So getting a 104 switch board for $27 means you paid $.26 a switch and you got some free keycaps to destroy
