Group Buys and Preorders / Re: [GB] SLK Dessau Light and Dark (Shipping)

The problem that I have is that there are so many misaligned legends that I legitimately can't tell what is the normal, intended alignment.

I bought Light, Dark, and the Int'l variants of each and Dark seems to have way more misaligned legends. I currently have a note of 40+ keys across my sets that need replacement but I have to go through and take pictures for the replacement process, which is not going to be fun.

It's also getting to a point where they are asking for biometrics to be enabled on a phone before it even allows that MFA app to be used [...]
Fingerprint readers are not even reliable on a large portion of phones out there.
It has never worked reliably on mine, so I have it disabled.

Add to that how easy it is to make a reproduction of a finger good enough to fool the reader in a phone.

In the event of, let's call it scarcity, a CITY would tear itself apart. The amount and rate of destruction would rise exponentially relative to population size.

Indeed - its fascinating how interconnected a city is, and how much its denizens don't realise the effort it takes to get various things on the store shelves - and how fragile that all is.

We saw in here in Sydney during COVID with people fighting over toilet paper of all things :D

The toilet paper hoarding was the strangest thing, I would've expected hand sanitiser and soap to run off the shelves first but toilet paper seemed so random, I remember hearing that the majority of toilet paper in Australia is produced locally, so it made it even more random cause there wouldn't have been shortages if there wasn't any panic about it.

Hi everyone!

I've been hoarding and building keyboards for a while and I think it's time to get more involved with the community.

the fingerprint is on the screen

That would be nice. On the 3 it is on the back.

Oh didn't know it's on the back on the 3, that's pretty weird, I guess the technology wasn't developed at the 3 and just thought it was the better idea at the time.

If it's magnets holding the top and bottom together, wouldn't it snap shut when you're assembling the board and therefore scratching the ano?

I've tested this for around 3 months now and haven't seen any scratches, especially in the contact area, although yes it will have more risk compared to a conventional lock mechanism
By design, it has a slight tolerance that minimizes this from happening

Pros you can easily assemble without any screwdriver but cons you need to be more careful compared to screw mechanism

Thanks for joining the new project!  There is only one batch for each keyboard so no one will need to wait for anew production run in the future.  I have also ordered many extra keyboards to allow for in stock shipping of future orders once everything arrives to me, expected over the coming months.
