You really don't have to remove any factory lube, in my opinion. It is very minimal (and inconsistent).

As for lubing, I plan to use 205g0 in mine!

The switches have made it to the country of superior hockey. Much better home than Sweden

Kbdfans wrap these in a box than makes it look like a brick of fentanyl, so these became very expensive after I had to pay the bad boy tax at the border. Oh well. They feel really smooth as is, and I think some 3204 will make these comparable to vints in the feels and sound department.

So cute. How does the nylon housing sound? I have vint blacks and love the sound, are they also nylon? Hard to find material details on switch housings...

Yep. Cherry housings are nylon, as are these. I haven't given them a proper sound test, but since they're the same materials and geometry as cherries, I'd expect identical sound.

i think the geometries are slightly different, and the springs are a different design so that may affect things as well

but it shouldn't be too far off

Oh yeah, speaking of which, anyone taking the plunge and spring swapping these with actual gateron yellow springs? I think that will take these to be what gateron yellow should have been IMHO.

I have some gateron yellows to compare it to, and if they feel noticeably different, I'll be spring swapping to the Gat Yellow springs.

MyKeeb seems to be last as Gateron didn't send out their shipment prior to the Chinese holiday, but ours are coming too!

How do they feel compared to vintage blacks, if you have any? I expect them to sound the same, but I'm wondering about the smoothness and wobble

The color seems to vary depending on the light source used. It looks closer to the ikea shade irl.

I received proto switches a while back. Would not say that they need switch films, but I personally don't notice wobble that much.
They have about the same amount of wobble as a Gateron yellow.

I received mine today!

They are very cool, and super smooth!

I've just been sitting here comparing them by touch with Tealios and FEI switches.
As you can imagine, all three of these switches are fantastic linears and very smooth.
The Linjar feels almost as smooth as the Tealios to me, with the FEI just a hair behind. The Linjar, like the FEI, has a bit of a spring sound on the down stroke, but it's less so. The Tealios has no such sound at all as far as I can hear. The upstroke sound on the Linjar and FEI are also very similar. But this is all just playing around with them next to my ear.
If I were to try them all out on the same board, I'm really not sure if I'd be able to tell them apart. But considering I have a Tokyo60 sitting in front of me with hot swap sockets, I may have to try just that.

Got my Linjars over the weekend and did some comparison against Gateron Yellows (Clear and Milky) and MX Blacks (Vintage and Retooled) with my fingers.

- Linjars are not Gateron Yellows clone.
- The spring is gold plated and feel a little lighter than Gat Yellows.
- From my unscientific stem kissing experiment, I can consistently move the Linjar's stem before the Gat Yellow's.
- Stock Linjar is alright. Needs lube to shine.
- Once lubed, Linjar is as smooth as lubed Gat Yellows, and slightly smoother than the lubed MX Blacks.
- It sounds closer to MX Blacks than either of the Gat Yellows.
- Has enough room for a switch film, but sounds significantly higher pitched with the film.

This is some really useful information, thank you! I've also had a few pieces of info gathered from the TopClack discord:

Christo 129 lube has a slightly higher-pitched sound signature than 205g0 but both feel really good (less updrag on the 129, according to Walker)
The housing is tight enough that a switch film isn't really necessary
Standard spring design, not like the Gateron Yellows (good candidate for spring swapping)

I'm looking forward to receiving mine and doing some testing. I'm going to do some spring swapping and stem swapping and see what kind of results I get.

I use lubed vintage blacks with spring swap and films, but for these I'm actually going to leave them unfilmed, unlubed and just add a gat yellow spring. Lubing for some could be an option, but these do not need films.

Films are not necessary for this switch since the top is tight enough, but the films will change the tone of the switch so it's a preference thing.
