Bought this set to put on a Gon I'm going to order.  Now if I could just settle on a switch type...

I bought a new keyboard JUST for this set....

Like seriously...
SERIOUSLY

i feel your pain. i bought a lightpad to go with my 60% board for this set, but since i ordered 2 sets i figured that other one would be a waste, so i did what any sensible man would do, i bought another 60% board + numpad combo.

Just keep it unused and wait for its price to climb and then sell it.

I just installed Dolch on my Poker II w/ Clears. GMK caps are mega tight on Clears, at least compared to the PuLSE set I just pulled. If you end up with Clears, buy some spare switches in case you rip the stems out your first few pulls :)

Damn newbs, ALWAYS use a lubricant when installing tight fitting caps.

Rule one when you first pick up a new keyboard with Clear-based MX switches, apply KY on the open-stem of the GMK KEY, then easy-peasy - slide it in.  Don't tell me you never applied some lube onto your manhood for any back door action in your life?

Same thing here, never go in RAW because it will be painful and hideous for the recipient, no matter what.

Don't be a fool always go in with some lube for easy access (keyboard wise and for everything else in LIFE)  8) .

I will tell you I have never done this. It would be an impressive feat indeed, considering the circumstances.

I didn't have any lubricant on hand, but I'm not too concerned about GMK on my Clears. I'm great with the wiggles, and my Poker is low-pro so I can wedge a stem-keeper down under there to hold the stem down.

The choice is clear!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

No would answer both questions.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

More info in IC thread here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=65724.0

The set is not subject to further changes.

It has been mentioned quite a few times that there will be no changes.

Not to mention that the buy has already begun, and as such there can be no further changes, even if intelli desired so.

Don't apologize. I was just being snarky. It's just that there have been so many people making so many requests for so many changes. It even created a lot of controversy towards the beginning of the buy.

There is still controversy to the buy because of issues that people didn't bring up when they had the chance

seems like a winkeyless g80-3000 would be ideal, but those are hard to come by.

Why do you think it may not be true? There is no reason for MD to cheat you with your position in the orders queue.

Since only 1 day is left, should this be reposted to /r/mk?

Also, can you imagine how big this could have been if it was open for orders nearly as long as Hyperfuse? We got over 700 in less than two weeks. I'm sure some people are missed just because their next paycheck hasn't come along in time.

Come on, everyone! I want to see this hit 800! I'm amazed at the support that came out of the woodworks for this set. I completely expected it to hit 500, wasn't expecting this high of numbers at all.

What time will the MD exactly end? I wanted to place another order but also having trouble with payment. I hope tomorrow I will be able to do it.

does this set only come with 6.25u spacebars? I would love a 6.5u for my TK!

6.25u and 7u, you should probably upgrade to a standard sized board if you don't have one, just for compatibility

This set has 6.25u and 7u spacebars. I'm not sure if GMK even has 6.5u moulds.

Word to the wise here on this forum, FIRST buy this key-set, then purchase a keyboard for it (in case you don't have one that is appropriate for this fine piece of TA)  8) .

Haha okay then, I don't have the money to buy a suitable keyboard and the set, so I'll give both of em a miss :(

until i can find a keyboard suitable for the 7u spacebar, i'll probably put this keyset on the ducky shine year or the snake i just bought.  i think it might look nice with the aluminum.

I had my max bid set @ $150 in the hopes I could snag it for pretty cheap. I should've set it higher, but oh well. I bought a GMK Dolch and Olivetti set and I'm waiting for a decent deal on a GTX 970 so probably better off not spending any more money XD
