For the metal guys; does anyone know of any bands with bigger nerdier balls than HORSE the band? They need to make another cd already. & by nerdy I need keyboard ♥.

I like 'Between the Buried and Me' as well but other than them I dont know of much others with great key talent in a hardcore/metal band.

HORSE in Malaysia xD ****ing love this band, they're hardcore, hilarious, and dont give a s**t. There's a china video too, their Earth Tour was epic.

horse the band is weak. if you MUST have goofy electronics, genghis tron is the only acceptable band and they are seriously pushing it with that drum machine ****.

if you want to start getting into legit chaotic hardcore / metalcore, start with converge and  pg.99

hahaha, 'legit', like a musical opinion has to be legitimized? What is so 'weak' about them? They're definitely NOT the most serious-toned band out there.

No actually I wasn't looking for your suggestions on 'getting into legit harcore / metalcore', but thanks. I listened to the song above, is it one of their slower ones? got kinda bored. & the whiny tone of the lyrics [with my other listen 'Concubine'] leave me thinking highschool screamo... & I never was much for that stuff, but was about when I discovered HtB & BtBaM. I forgot about ghengis tron, I think I tried them a few years back. Give it another go, thanks for the suggestion.

& you're missing HORSE for what it is; noises taken straight from games, songs about NES game villains, albums about... pizza w/ a teenage mutant ninja turtles theme song... haha its just ****ing hilarious and brutal at the same time. Maybe not as "omg HxC" as you (or I would) like but they still rock s**t, and went on a 45-country, 4-continent, 90-day self booked tour.

"drum machine ****" haha, do you not listen to a lot of electronic varieties? That exact element is what I asked for ( :\ ), with or without the scream, converge sounds instrumentally good but I guess I was looking at a select sort of sub-genre.

When I die, this will be playing at my Funeral viewing:

Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport #1 (1998) Entire CD Continuous Mix (1.2 hrs)(192kbps)

Thats pretty nice sounding... this old trance track gets regular play from my 'DJ Doboy vocal edition vol. 13'; Delerium - Silence (Above & Beyond mix) & I think Young Parisians - Jump The Next Train (Kyau vs Albert Remix) it right after, I should upload Doboys mix as it is awesome.

hahaha, thanks for the laugh thats one of my favorite comments when it comes to music, 'bad taste'; try not to sound so narrow minded. At least I gave reasons for my OPINION.

Another good laugh is what you started this thread out with, real gem. You dont happen to like kpop too?

I am surprised so many people on here listen to K-pop. My favorite group is 2NE1 but I listen to plenty of other groups YG Family or otherwise (Big Bang has lost me with their new stuff >_>).

I was listening to Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck over the past hour or so . I love exploring different genres: Jazz (Miles Davis, Art Blakey, John Coltrane), K-pop (2NE1,SuJu, VIXX, IU) , Metal (Death, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Galneryus), Hip Hop (Nujabes, Thievery Corporation, Drunken Tiger), some chill jam stuff (Lotus, Toe), and techno (Crystal Castles, Sharpnel Sound, Astrix, various trance mixes).

I listen to plenty of other bands in these genres but those are some favorites...I love having tons of choices in my music library and I kind of feel bad for people who limit themselves to one genre.

I had the Fugees version of Killing Me Softly stuck in my brain today for no apparent reason.  So I spent some time with them on youtube tonight, and found this amazing remix (which is better than the original version):

He is an ugly dude with simply too much swag and awesome that one cannot resist the awesome in the music video. He is also called the kpop star that will build a bridge to us markets and was never expected to. Everyone thought 2ne1 or girls generation would do it. Then this old weirdo comes with a song like this and it's viral.

This thread needs moar metal! \m/

I'm listening to Euphoreon - Euphoreon
http://www.euphoreon.com/

A bit more scratchy than what I generally prefer, but good nonetheless.
Thanks a lot, I've been looking for something like that.
Euphoreon is what you should be listening to when waiting for time (wintersun) to come out. I just went through all of ensiferum's discography at work today (Gearing up for the new CD to come out) and I finished it out with Ne Obliviscaris

They have some great song tiles, and a good violinist. I'd characterize it as more melodeath, but it''s great.
Tapestry of the starless abstract is also good.
