I don't enjoy breakfast at breakfast time but I like the food (sausage, bacon, toast, beans, tomatoes, French toast, hash browns, pancakes etc.) and I could eat that all day. (But not too early)

beans? for breakfast?

Do tell I'm interested.

You've never had baked beans for breakfast? Dooood? What have you bean eating all your life? 0.0

Go now, go buy some, go eat them tomorrow!

Also

Hey!

That's a 'murica trademark breakfast!

No stealing it over the UK!

It's called a "Full English" for a reason!

Baked beans? As in the beans people eat with BBQ?? For breakfast??

I do enjoy some jalapeno jelly on my toast....perhaps beans don't sound too bad after all.....

Baked beans on toast...  Delish.

Had them for breakfast every day I was in London, once I made sure it's wasn't pork and beans (being a vegetarian).

sc2 is boring if you suck.

But if you're just getting into it NOW, that will be a large hurdle, as the average player skill is going to be much higher than at launch.

Also considering you didn't know this ahead of time, means you're not a person that plays games seriously, and you do not do your research ahead of time, all points to the fac tthat you're not one for details.

SC2 is certainly too difficult a challenge for you.

the name "cheese" is often given to things that are not, in fact, cheese, but are nonetheless tasty. equally often these things have somewhat unsavory production, ie headcheese.

the fact that velveeta probably isn't really cheese, and the fact that i don't really want to know what its made out of, don't stop it from being delicious.

There was some ancient obsolete law about no bicycles in public parks in the town and the ******* cop was flexing his long penis of the law and took me in. Some kids went before me in court and pissed off the judge so I got hit with the max fine. I should have gotten a lawyer. Lessened learned.

There's a college town by me that has a huge hill that it's very well known for, and the cops will sit at the bottom and hand out speeding tickets to bikers that happen to reach over 25mph.  I've never biked the hill myself, but I can't imagine it'd be that hard to accidentally go too fast.  Your story is obviously much more annoying, since your fine was huuuge.

no-bike parks also exist here. max fine is "get the f**k out of the park!"
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Not today, that was boring. Last night was another story altogether though! Broke up with my girlfriend a week ago so I've just been keeping to myself and staying busy, wound up getting a visit from a girl who heard the news and wanted to see how I was doing. Lets just say I'm doing a lot better now  :thumb:

Just called a local auto body shop, curious to see what their price was to have a keyboard cover painted in an unusual color.  The guy said $250 at the minimum.  My jaw dropped and I said he was crazy.  He kept trying to say that it was not crazy, because I'd be pulling one of his employees from doing something else for 2-3 hours that would cost them $250...   Haha awesome way to do business and what kind of logic is that?  That's how they charge for their services?  Anyway, my most ridiculous experience to date in terms of people naming truly crazy prices for no good reason.  (That's even after I told him that I have a great idea of how painting, sanding, and filling works, as I do it myself--he was still very defensive and argumentative).  Needless to say, this is the primary reason I try to do everything myself.

Well he's trying to make a profit.

You hold a number in your head that's 1:1 with material and labor..

He's not crazy.. His market is to either inept people or lazy people..

If you are NEITHER of those, Kudos...

Just remember, there also exist "Rich" people who put their time into higher ratio payoff scenarios, forgoing low payoff hobbies such as keyboarding and videogaming.

I'm not suggesting that you should become rich, since no greater perceived happiness can be achieved beyond $70,000 yearly income.

I'm merely making the case that market value IS RATIONAL.

I don't think it's rational either.  It's completely over the top.  Even if he said $100 I would scratch my head and say "no thanks".  $250 is like...  in the realm of "do you think I'm a complete moron?"

Sometimes I think body shops quote prices like to discourage small jobs that might require a good deal of finicky masking, taping, sanding, etc.  I had a whole set of body panels painted for a vintage Honda motorcycle, and even though I did most of the prep work myself, the shop told me afterwards they would never have taken the job if they'd realized how complex it would be.

What you should have asked is if you provided a pallet of masked and taped keyboard cases, how much to do 20 or 50 of them.  I suspect the price per unit would drop dramatically, if they could lay a bunch out and shoot them at the same time (and same color...)   ;D

Perhaps.  I'd rather he just tell me that he prefers to not take on a job like that rather than name a price that he knows any reasonable person won't agree to.  I even mentioned I can do the prep work myself and used to doing painting.  He was just adamant that $250 was the minimum for 2-3 hours of work.......  It's not like it would take that long altogether anyway, there's a lot of waiting in between different stages.  Anyway, I was just curious.

The auto shop experience you had, Photo, comes down to opportunity costs.  If they take your job at Keyboard Market prices they can't take a job at Car Shop market prices, which are likely higher.  Otherwise he'd be choosing between a keyboard at $50 or a car at $250 for the same amount of time (presumably).  He'd choose the car every time.  OR he could offer to take your keyboard, but he needs to get the same money.  It's absurd prices for a keyboard, but at least you have the option (I guess?).  :)  I agree it's not a good price, but he doesn't have much choice.

Of course, if he's not busy he'd be an idiot to not take business - though I suspect he has orders coming in just fine.

For the record, I don't think I'm teaching you anything new here and don't mean to be condescending, but it's important to see it from their point of view.  Profit (and business) is always good, yes, but why not take the option with more profit?

phrase of the day (by our leaving hr director): "you are going to get fired next week. wanna join <one of russia's biggest newspapers> as a CTO?"

Had fun installing a bunch of new mechanical door locks for the new house, except the pin thingy that sticks out the back of the lock has to be cut down to suit the thickness of the door and I didn't have anything to cut it with.

So didn't really achieve anything, really.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
