(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Uh should not read this thread when I'm hungry and it's nearly dinner time.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, sodas everywhere else are so much better, because they tend to use real sugar and aren't insanely sweet like they are in the US. On topic, just made some crazy good loco moco

Mexican Coke products are the best (Coke/Fanta/Sprite) because they use real cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup. On the other hand, actual Mexican soda is terrible. Tamarind lime chili soda anyone?

Or mexican candy. Seriously, who's idea was it to put chili powder inside of a sweet candy?

Today's Food:

Went to have Puerto Rican food. I had a beef empanada and...

Mofongo with Carne Fritas. Monfongo is the yellow mashed potato-like stuff on the left. It's fried plantains with garlic, olive oil, and chicharrons or pork cracklings all mashed together. Then I had pork rib meat fried with some peppers and onions as the protein. It was amazing.

Best. Ice. Cream. Jeni's Ice Cream in Columbus Ohio. I got a scoop of their black coffee, made with Intelligentsia coffee, and this black walnut and honey flavor. I wanted to get more when I walked by another Jeni's an hour later.

Not from today but my friend discovered a taco truck near my apartment is actually delicious. I got beef tongue, steak, and pork al pastor tacos. And lots of cucumber on the side!

Kabayaki style eel.  :p

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabayaki

Over rice it is called unagidon, short for unagi donburi, which means eel bowl.

It tastes like a combination between General Tso's chicken, BBQ, and teriyaki.

..while looking for the image, I found out that people eat the baby eels as a delicacy  :'(

http://shizuokagourmet.com/japanese-seasonal-fish-noresoreconger-eel-whitebait/

The black spots are their eyes.  When they're babies, they're transparent and I think they're called "glass eels", though that term might just be for American Eels, I'm not sure.

To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. it seems i happen to be the only person on geekhack who dislikes sriracha and buckling springs.

Just curious though, iri, if you don't like sriracha because you don't like the spice? garlic? Do you have a favorite hot sauce?
