Best breakfast sandwich I've had in my life: at the "Centra" on Marlborough street in Dublin. Hint: the blood pudding (sausage) is the key!!.

I mean hands-down best ever: before that my favorites were on all Long Island (think Hempstead Turnpike in Nassau County).

Favorite dim-sum item: Radish Cakes. Don't get me wrong, just about everything in DimSum is awesome but Radish Cakes are the only thing I truly crave.

Last but not least: Pho. Probably my single favorite dish for the last 10 years.

Cheers,

K

Beef hot pot

Show Image

What is in "beef hot pot" and how do I make it?

hot pot is so easy to do, all you need is stock (beef, chicken, seafood,... depends on which one you like) and some vegetable to push up the flavor like lotus roots, mushroom, some tofu, five spices,... and many kind of beef (or seafood, chicken, pork, lamb,...) The stock is served on a stove (so that's why they call it hot) and some additional veg, egg noodle along with meat

a picture worth thousands of words :p

I love hotpot something fierce. That was my Christmas dinner last year and I was so happy to have it :D.

The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. "Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i tried eating a salad
it's just so weird
it's got the good tasty soft bits, then it's got the weird crunchy bits that taste like bad soap
then there's the things you have no idea what are that are nauseating etc.
i drowned it with creme fraiche and added a lot of chicken cubes and pasta

The only thing that I eat consistently every day are fruits, and a lot of them. Mostly apples but also more exotic things. It is amazing to me how you can pretty much eat as many of them as you want and still maintain a healthy diet.

Ooooh my god. I always forget how good lentils are until I have them again. I might have to prioritize having some now. Thanks for the reminder!

On my last grocery trip, I picked up a dozen of krispy kreme glazed. Normally, I only get the half-dozen because you have a 4 day window max to consume the box before they are past prime.

I finished the dozen in my 3 day window wife had 1 or 2. No rAgrets

I think that rule #1 of fasting goes something like: "Under no circumstance are you to have brownies in the house"

You are only allowed to abandon that rule once you have established that you have the discipline of at least 20 navy seals... combined.

I'm not even at home though.   :))   I made certain to not bring food to work, and I'm only drinking water.

Then a coworker walks up and says "Do you think you could eat the rest of these brownies?"
"Well duh, of course!"

Guess you're not passing that test

I'm supposed to fast 8-12 hours.  The testing is at 3:30pm.  It's 9:00am.  I ate half a brownie.

Maybe I'll be fine?
