I'm not sure, but it was towards the end.  The movie also had Mickey Rooney in it (dead), the guy in the wheelchair (dead).  My kid asked when part 4 was coming out, I had to stifle the "same day as the new Amy Winehouse" album comment.

Jackie Earle Haley's portrayal of Odin Quincannon on AMC's Preacher is so ****ing good. People are gonna look back on it later and realize how good it was.

My wife had a bachelorette party Saturday night and my older son was with my parents so after the baby was down I splurged and watched Django Unchained and Cabin In The Woods.  Django I hadn't seen and I thought it was pretty good, Cabin In The Woods I have seen but it's one of my favorites so I watched it again.

Also been rewatching some old American Dad episodes and I got to say American Dad is clearly funnier and more clever that both Family Guy and the Simpsons (at least starting with American Dad season 3)

Season 6 is so on point. The jokes are so well-written and the way they fit them in without disrupting the plot. I go so far as to say Season 6 is one of the the top of adult animated sitcoms in terms of writing. Better than the first season of Rick and Morty even.

Norwegian TV and cinema is generally very good, especially for the country whose sole reason for existence is extracting oil and catching fish.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Blasted through this yesterday, definitely one of the best shows I've watched in a while. It feels like an 8 hour movie to be honest, but it's very well done in my opinion. Has a very Super 8 meets E.T. vibe to it, but it sucks you in from the get go.

Definitely recommend it

I'm getting ready to rewatch S02E01 and )2 of Mr. Robot.  FI was distracted during the first viewing, this show is deep enough to warrant a closer and calmer look.

I watched it after so many recommendations. I think the first 3/4 of the show is quite good. The last two episodes, not really a fan of. But in general it's quite good still.

Been looking for a new show lately. Tried watching House Of Cards - did not like. too boring. Tried watching Peaky Blinders - can only understand half of what they are saying. also boring. Tried Todd Margret - ugh, terrible. absolutely terrible. Tried American Horror Story - actually got through the first episode, but completely lost interest in the second. Boring.
There is nothing good on Netflix anymore. Most of the movies are made for TV **** fests, and all the new shows are boring.

Already watched it. It was ok, not remotely close to the hype people give it. Some of the characters (Mal, Kaylee, and River) were annoying little ****bags. Did not care for the movie though, completely missed what made the show good.

Realistically the show would have ended before the prison scene. But what happens to the main character is what keeps me watching because the dude is bonkers

just watched through it as well. I liked it a lot, even though it left me with a few unanswered questions. Still a very well made show, all the characters were likeable (except the black kid who was always an ******* to everyone) and the plot progression was handled very well. I am thinking next season they get rid of all the cast except the cop and put him in a new small town, make him a specialist.

Also watching through Mr. Robot, also pretty good. They make an effort to have the tech stuff make sense which is nice. 2 more episodes left but it's pretty obvious already what is going on with Elliot, that boy be cray in the head.

Also finished up watching Preacher, the last episode was so ****ing good. I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't watched it or thinking about it, do it. Preacher is going to be one of those shows people talk about after it's over, and with all the positive reviews and great possibilities I would bet it's coming back for another season.

Not sure what season of Mr. Robot you are watching, but current season (2) is 5 episodes into an expanded 12 episode season (7 left).  Good series, not typical of other USA sclock IMO.

I might start Preechr, that sounds really interesting.

Agree about Stranger Things, although that black kid was good too. Just wonder if they were going for that 70s/80s feel where some black characters stereotypically had 'tude. Or maybe not.

My wife feels the same about a second season, that if anything it will follow the cop and/or town and remove the kids completely.

I enjoyed Mr Robot, but wasn't as invested. I predicted the twist at the ending of the first season and was disappointed they went that route. Haven't seen the second season yet.

Gotta start Preacher. Heard great things about that.

Yes I did just now..

Doesn't make any sense.....

Why are they not going in there with guns..

That's the FIRST thing you should do, whenever this kinda thing happens..

Alot of stuff just doesn't make sense....

The premise of the other-world is very loosely built...

For example,  I don't like how there are  Identical materials and world entites such as that stick fort in the Other-world..

That is silly, because a stick fort has a purpose in our world, but for its existence in the other world, there would need to be equivalent utilization by the occupants of that world.

Otherwise,  it would be inconceivable that it'd exist in that fashion..

I suppose the main problem is the show not accounting for the separation of Human beings as separate entites from both the Real World, and Other world, why are the humans not also items with proper reflections.

Just watched stranger things...

I mean.....  what I am confused about,  is that,  This is America..  Why are they NOT storming the  Para-world with GUNS....

It makes no sense for them to be doing what they're doing..

Did you finish watching it?

Hehe, that show is all my childhood movies squeezed together with better actors/actresses/better writing. Flying vans are always a win in my book ;)

I've been sort of bingeing Stargate Atlantis. I like the first season--maybe not as much as the first season of SG1. But with SG1 as a reference, it's a bit easier for me to grasp the craziness of the Stargates.

Wasn't that his last film?

Oh, I think the last film he did was the one he played a dog. I can't remember the name. I think it was the last one he filmed anyway.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

The idea was that the guy running the complex wanted to actually make contact with the creature and use it as a weapon, this is made pretty clear throughout the story he doesn't not want to kill the Upsidedown monster.
And they explained the whole reflection of the upsidedown with the flea on a tightrope explanation. The people and monsters were the fleas able to go up and down while the rest of the reflected world remained the same . The two halvs of the world do not change what is holding them together, the glue, which in this case is the inhabitants. They explain it albeit in a loose fashion.

Also has anyone noticed Amazon Prime has far better non-exclusive content than Netflix? Amazon is blowing Netflix out of the damn water at this point.
