Is it possible to buy a Filco FKBN87Z/EB with Fukka ALPS-style switches instead of white XM switches from you?

Hi lal

Sorry for the delay in replying - and Happy New Year.
The FKBN87Z/EB we have now are the only ones that are available. I don't know of any plans to produce an XM switch model.

Can't see these listed on your site?
How much do they cost?

I thought you only had the EB-Y model, which is the XM one?

Sorry ch_123 you're right. It is just the EB-Y that we have. That's the only one we ever had.
Got my XM all Fukka'd up, can we call it a holiday moment?

Thanks Bruce!  A Happy New Year to you Brits, too! :)

elitekeyboards.com dropped the FKBN87Z/EB from their website last week.  According to Brain the sales rep, they stopped selling the model due to "lack of interest".  I thought this model was in hot demand, which is right?

my guess would be that it's in "hot demand" by a small group of vocal people, but overall most people wants their blues and browns

That model was not in any way, shape or form "in hot demand."  It was when it was released, but controller "problems", and other reasons, crushed any demand it had.

I wouldn't want to upset any Alps fans but Filco boards with Cherries are so good - i'd say it makes sense to support that first and foremost.

There are Alps fans? =P

Seriously though, the only Alps of note are the Blue Complicated ones. The other complicated ones were mediocre enough as they were without people making cheap Chinese copies of them.

My Northgate Ultra is white alps and I like it.  Part of it might be a long term emotional attachment to it that colors my opinion though,

I had a long term attachment to my Northgate, too. Then I realized I dislike ALPS key switches, and sold it. No need to keep it around just for street cred.
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.
