Hello from Southern California!

I've done a considerable amount of research the past few months and I minimally wanted to express my thanks to the GeekHack community.

This forum is packed full of passionate people who are both technical and creative.  I'm inspired by everyone on here making art out of their instruments of expression.

Now I'm ready to take the plunge myself, and the HHKB Pro 2 and Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 55g are the biggest blips on my radar.  Any insight is appreciated, but have an awesome day regardless!

Welcome! HHKB and RF 55g you can hardly go wrong. The RealForce will feel comfortable for you to use straight away while the HHKB may have a steeper comfort curve. I decided to pick up a HHKB a while ago and now every other keyboard layout seems foreign and awkward. People say they can't live with out the dedicated arrows of a TenKeyLess but I have yet to begrudge the HHKB and her easy to use Fn layer.

Welcome to Geekhack!

A fine first two keyboards you will be buying - and don't delude yourself that you'll only get one - if you get the HHKB first you'll forever be wondering what the hype about 55g Topre is, and if you get the RF first you'll forever wish you had gotten the HHKB first.

Also consider the buckling spring kingdom ;)
