Modern Beige Phase 2.5
« on: Sat, 01 April 2017, 16:09:11 »
I really liked how the first group buy went. I was able to gauge a bunch of different colorways.

For Phase 2, I just skipped the group buy and ordered the most popular keysets, but these are just keysets from the first run.

I  want to bring some new flavor colors to 2.5 (even though I haven't sold Phase 2 yet).

The original group buy price was $79. If we add 2.25u and 1800 support, it'll be an additional $6-8.

  • Japanese
  • Desko
  • Irish
  • Arabic

Some people mentioned thai, ural, and some other custom ones.

Sent feedback, I wouldn't mind kits being separate for a higher cost if it means there is a wider selection (UK, 1800, HHKB, etc)

I'm surprised so few want ISO. Perhaps anyone interested has already forgotten about this set because it didn't offer ISO before, so the only people browsing the forum are interested in ANSI only.

Have you posted the form to reddit?

These are just dye subbed Enjoy PBT keycaps right? So if I got a white set off mechanicalkeyboards.com they would match in terms of colour and profile?

No confirmed dates yet. We'll find out more when Phase 2 arrives! One of the most popular options was Japanese Black/Red and Red/Black. Since we are getting these, we would like to know how the poll will change.

So sad about no ISO. I totally get why ANSI people don't want it in their set (adds cost), but I'd be so happy if I could even just buy an addon set of a few caps just to cover the necessary keys: the ISO enter and short shift and an extra 1u I think is all it is.

Because of the ISO costs, we definitely can't make it happen unless everyone was to add a little.

How much more would you have to tack on to the base price to make ISO happen? Am I going to help out like I did with blue alert?!?! :D

It costs nearly $5,000-6,000 to make the molding for it. I'm willing to sacrifice an additional $20 until we reach those costs. There's just not enough love at the moment.

Is there an ETA on when 2.5 will be available?

Do you think MOD switch will be ready by Oco 2.5? Since I'm in the UK, I'd rather wait and just order both at once. I'd also like to wait for the proper 1800 support

So, according to your previous post, you mentioned the total for R2.5 including the extra kits would be $90 total...yet R2 without the extra kits seems to be $90 right now...why the price increase?

Okay, you just made it sound like 1800 was coming after 2.5 because you said 1800 wouldn't be for some time when I was talking about waiting for 2.5   :)

If you don't mind, what are the adjustments to the MOD switches? As a round 1 buyer, I'd all for getting another round!

Also, is there any chance we'll see more than just black/deep blue for the classic keycaps? (just latin alphas).

Would you mind updating the shop to clarify which ones are GB items and which ones are in stock?
Also, is there any reason for the in stock arabic set to cost just as much as the GB sets?

Sherry said there would be a price increase for 1800 support. Hopefully we get a render of what's included. I'm definitely interested, but I want to see what caps are there first.

Yeah, it's the different profiles like the Delete, End, and Pg Dn are R1 and then there's a - and + sign for R2/R3
