Hello from Maryland!
« on: Wed, 16 May 2018, 17:12:10 »
Hi all! Very excited to finally hang up the title of lurker. Hopefully will be posting a nice thread here soon about my m0110 mod! Just received one from ebay, and have been gushing over lowpoly's rebuild.

BIG QUESTION: Seriously considering a full spring mod, like in the above post. Does 40cN actuation seem too light? Is there such a thing as too light? My two main boards before this have been Cherry MX Brown and ALPS Black (Dell AT101), and they've both seemed fine, except the Dell is a bit heavy/rough on the keypress.

Let me know your thoughts/ideas for mods!

Welcome! :)

MX Red switches actuate at around 45cN, so I wouldn't say 40 is too light. It's too light for me, but that's a whole other topic.

There probably is such a thing as too light - when the spring can't hold or return the slider :))

I did a couple of speed tests this am where I scored 77wpm on my model-m but only 68 wpm on my leopold fc660c. I thought I liked light, but maybe 45cN is too light?
If it's not ALPS it's crap!
