I was actually considering a spring swap between a blue and a black board.  I had a Blackwidow and recall thinking I'd like blues more if they were a bit stiffer.  

How do the black springs compare to clears?  My current daily drivers are a stock clears board at home and a stock brown at work, but I'm finding I'd prefer something between browns and clears.

Clear springs are feeling a bit stiffer than black to me. I'd go brown/blue/red springs + clear stems for your "ergo clears".

blacks are a bit less resistance than clears. clears are pretty hefty, good for the keys you tend to hammer on; blacks are a really good compromise between the clears and blues
