AVAILABLE TO PREORDER!

Garrett from Dixie Mech here!
Most of us cherish our keyboards like they are our children and love to take them places to show off / hang out with others. However, most people do not have an efficient/safe way to carry their most prized keyboards outside of just having them in a sleeve. A couple years ago I bought a Pelican Air Case to use to fly with my boards to meetups, and it has been incredible. I decided to bring this to rest of you! And of course it gives you the perfect place to show off all those keyboard stickers you have collected.

These are the best cases on the market for protecting your keyboards.

Features:
- Crushproof
- Dustproof
- Weather resistant.
- Include Foam
- Vault Cases have layered foam
- All others have  pick and pluck foam so you can customize the storage layout you need

I am going to attempt to have prices lower than the prices you will see from other places. The prices listed below are still up in the air. The final price will hopefully be lower than the price listed below. It all depends how many are purchased. However there is no MOQ.

Shipping is not included in these prices.

After the first round of this groupbuy, I will have a better sense of what cases are popular and will begin to stock them for quicker shipping. However, even the Groupbuy should only take two weeks to be delivered to me.

I have created a form just to get a sense of the sizes people would like to see.

You can find that below!

https://forms.gle/5EgL7Wb8QoJdD6Mi9

I have am planning on carrying a few different sizes to cover the wants of most people.

Intrigued! So is there any difference between the cases you'd have on your web store vs. the cases that pelican stocks itself? Or is this just another product you'd like to offer, if there's interest?

They will be the same cases from Pelican, but I am going to try to sell them for cheaper than straight from Pelican. I can get custom colored cases made, but I wanted to start out more basic.

Got it! Custom colors would be amazing! I've actually been trying to convince myself to get a pelican case for this exact reason for quite some time now ;)

I'd be interested in a V550 or a 1510. I don't care about custom colors and I'd prefer black.

V550 seems like the best value option, but I do like the carry-on one because of the wheels.

My thoughts exactly. 1510 is nice too just because if you do happen to fly with it, you can, well, take it as a carry on..

Basically the the V200, V300, V550 are a cheaper budget option, the 1507 Air is a premium option because it is much lighter, and the 1510 Carry On is exactly the size needed to put in an aircraft overhead compartment and has wheels to roll through an airport.

Could these also have inserts for, say, a camera? I'd love to combine camera body + lens + keeb inside one.

Would the v550 hold IBM SSKs? I need to break one of mine out and measure it. But if large bezel TKLs won't fit, I'm guessing no.

Sorry I don’t know for sure, but I listed the interior dimensions so you can measure!

The pick and pluck foam will allow you to make exact sized openings for anything you could want! So you can make an opening for your camera and gear and a keyboard!

So I have found that the V550 does not come with the pick and pluck foam, but just five layers of foam stacked. Unfortunately I feel this will not be a great solution for multiple board storage. I will be looking for another case in that price range that holds multiple boards.

Oh goodness. I don't even know what to expect. A few of these weigh up to 12 lbs. I guess well see once they are live and it calculates your rates for you.

Interested in a 1507 Air. Custom colors don’t interest me that much, but if there’s any chance of group buying some kind of more keyboard-oriented foam insert, that would definitively interest me. Having used pick and pluck foam numerous times  for camera equipment, I’ve found that heavy equipment can cause thin areas of foam to tear away from the rest of the block if the case isn’t completely full, like an ultratelephoto lens....or a heavily weighted keyboard that you put your heart and soul into building. I could easily see a keyboard doing this if other sections were left empty.

Idk if there is any kind of one size fits all solution that would be better for keyboards than the general pick and pluck because of the variability in board dimensions, but I’d probably toss the original foam in favor of custom cutting an insert myself out of a large block of sturdier foam.

Because I am just starting to endeavor, I cannot get prices anywhere close to cheap enough to be able to have proxies, where the prices wouldn't be outrageous.

Here is my personal one. I wasn't very smart with my cutouts when I first did it.

I have gotten pricing back on the 1353 air and 1510, and I will be replacing the 1510 with the 1535 in the lineup. The quote for the 1510 was very high and they are basically the same case.

Oh wow, that is spacious. I'll definitely be picking one of these up, you should think about doing sticker bundles with the pelican cases, too  :D

I have made some adjustments. All case titles that are in italics have been edited.

Changes:

Swapped 1510 for the 1535 Air

Added info about the V550 only having layered foam. Your boards will be stacked between layers and will limit the number you can fit. May remove this one because of this new info unless everyone wants it to stay.

Added iM2300 as a replacement for the V550 in the 2 board category. Costs more, but iM2300 has a lifetime warranty, Pick n pluck foam, and does not need to stack the boards.
