Repairing the rk9000 keyboard.
« on: Mon, 04 August 2014, 23:56:20 »
Hello!,
My name is Nick and this is my very first post. So I have been creeping this forum now and then looking at different opinions on various gaming keyboards. Yesterday, I brought a used rk9000 from a store, and when i tried plugging it in on my parent's lenovo thinkpad (visiting home) the number and cap lock lights came on, however none of the keys work, and the device manager on the computer said it didn't connect. I saw a thread about the rk9000 usb problems, but was just wondering if its the usb connection since the blue lights went on. If it helps parents computer uses windows 7 ultimate.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

P.S: Sorry if this is the wrong section.

I would suggest to open her up and check the USB connector and controller socket soldering. The case opens up like a QFR (guide w/ pics by dorkvader here), except it has three screws (only one in QFR's) and no cable under the PCB. For reference some RK-9k pictures can be found here.
