Midnight Set

The Midnight Set is a DCS family keycaps set with double shot Cherry replica legends and 3 novelty keys.

Order Form

The two main variants are the followings:

Pure Midnight

Midnight with Twilight Modifiers

Please note that the above are just mock-ups and do no represent the real final colors. The set is very dark gray, but the vibrant legends give a blue tint to the whole.

Below a pictures of the colors

If you have a color ring the color codes are:
Dark blue: GEW
Darker blue: GB
Turquoise: VCO
Gold: YBP

What do I need? Please read!

The base kit includes only the alpha! To cover any keyboard you need at least the Base kit AND either the Midnight Modifiers or the Twilight modifiers!

Numpad
As per the base set to cover a numpad you have to grab the base numpad kit and either the Midnight or Twilight numpad adder.

Recommended kits

I highly recommend to grab one of the additional modifiers to make your set future proof.

Glow in the dark kit!

ISO kit

WASD kit includes a 5 polycarbonate keys!

Important!

The additional modifiers do not include a 7u spacebar. If you have a 1.5u modifiers keyboard you also need to grab the spacebar!

The base alpha includes a 6.25u spacebar but remember to grab some spares to make your order shine-proof!

That's nothing unusual. Bigger keys simply cost more - it's as simple as that

it's actually the lower MOQs; it's somewhat confusing I guess.

the alphas are 34 but require at least 50 purchases
the mods are 53 but only require 25 purchase (they drop to 38 after 50)

don't want to rain on the parade, love the set, but I want to hold out for the SA profile version.

Please consider that even though the MOQ is 50, the target is really 100! A full TKL set should end up costing $70. Remember these are Cherry Replica legends, you don't see many around.

The set hasn't been made yet. So there is no way to show you them in real life.

I can't decide between the Midnight and the Twilight mods. Both are a little bit too much for my wallet right now...

I am leaning towards the Midnight Mods, because the turqouise of the Twilight Mods might be a little too bright for my taste

Midnight set is dark themed by default. Twilight has been added to spice it up a bit. It's a very vibrant design and might actually turn out very well. When in doubt go full Midnight.

I keep getting requests for an ergodox kit. You people really want a DCS ergodox? I have no problem adding one, but I don't think DCS is the best profile for that.

I'm buying this set for another keyboard in hopes that its success eventually leads to a set with SA or DSA profile and some ErgoDox mods.

The list of keys of the additional modifiers is as follow:

1u backspace
1.5u backspace
1.75u control (+stepped)
1u FN
1.75u shift
2.25u shift
1u FN
2x 1u wolf key
1u menu
2x 1u ctrl
2x 1u alt
1.25u capslock
1.25u FN
2x 1.5u ctrl
2x 1.5u alt
1.5u capslock

Vertical key position respects the actual row of the key (that's why you have two separate 1u keys in two different rows)

A DCS ergodox would actually be nice because i know many people don't like non-sculpted on the ergodox (DSA), the ergodox is flat and sometimes that is annoying for the top row keys, not as flexible with key cap placement for custom layouts so pretty everything will have to be blanks (wouldnt that make it cheap?) unless you wanted to add some random symbols or something like they did for Prenumbra. I would love a sculpted set instead of DSA but not sure if i want to shine up another ABS set and make it my daily driver, but id be down for the purchase.

I considered VBV, but at the end I opted for the more vibrant VCO.

I tried to do that with my 150$ Galaxy Class Set order, but in the end you save like 5$ because you have to pay twice for shipping, have to send around money which means extra paypal fees, etc.

It's not worth the hustle IMO. But I feel your pain: Paying 20% more than the CONUS people plus higher shipping costs to EU is like paying for an extra set you don't get. In the end I told myself to suck it up and just order it. If you really like a set, you will value it even more

How many EU people besides me are interested in a Midnight Set? If somebody want's to be the proxy for ALL EU orders it might be worth it though!

We are off to a really slow start. I guess it was just too many GBs in the last couple of months...

If you like the set, place your order now! It doesn't make sense to wait for better price tiers, because they will never come if nobody orders.

I do not expect this to be as successful as Granite, but honestly the MOQ has been already set pretty high so the price is already low. There's no reason to wait for the last minute.

In the future don't ever waste your time letting this lot here choose what profile or colours to apply upon any key-set. You are the commander in chief (not them) hence you make the decision on everything. We are now living in the fascist age hence Matt get with the times and start running any future Group Buys like a head-honcho.

The ones that complain or b1tch about what a key-set should look like, can always run their own Group Buy in due course (then they'll know what it's truly like).

I started working on the Midnight before the SP system was online and this rain of GBs flooded us. As I said many times I pushed this because I like to close what I start, not properly because we needed another keyset at this time, even though I love Midnight and it would be one of the few DCS that I would actually use.

Anyway, even Granite was a late bloomer and we all know how it ended

I'm a DSA fan, DCS is not my cup of tea, but this one is a set I would love to have even in DCS. For the moment I'm struggling to recover from Galaxy Class GB, where I went ninja and bought all the kits with great expense

Now I'm biding on a rare part for my other expensive hobby, my dear '72 VW Beetle, if I don't win the funds will be redirected here

I have no clue why this GB is kinda struggling. The set has everything your other sets have - a beautiful color scheme and some novelty caps!

The only reason I can imagine is some kind of oversaturation of GBs.

Right now it feels like a gamble to order anything beyond a basic TKL set, because you might end up with a 44$ Tsangan Kit, etc.

A commitment system a la Massdrop would be really helpful to get this thing going. As long as people can exactly determine how much they pay in the end, they are more likely to make a decision.
