It should be better to contact SP or GMK directly to get that information. Unless some rep from SP jump into this thread, any other answer may be speculative. For example, from a plastic molding perspective any plastic part can be double shot, the main constraint would be the cost of building new molds. The molds should be develop which are expensive and they only can be paid over long production runs. I am an industrial engineer who worked many years in the automotive components manufacturing industry with both metal and plastic parts. If what you want is just a few space bars with some special legend, then sublimated legends on PBT may be your best option. Also, to make a double shot in a side wall of the space bar may be challenging, the easiest is the top of the cap. Again, just call an SP tech rep and ask her, they may then quote you, mold and MOQ.

I found this thread that reports on a new mold for DS space bar. (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=23926.0)

Based on this guy's comment...

Please don't do a double-shot space bar.  It'll ruin all the fun of laughing at noobs that ask about them.

I am definitely a newb noob...okay so, can one Dye-Sub the side printing?

I'm fairly sure I've seen it done before.  Bug IMSTO, see what he can do.

Both side and top print I think.

Both side and top print I think.

What I am trying to do is come up with a way to put a silhouette of Serenity on the top left of a spacebar, and then side print on the right a phrase...I believe that Dye-Subbing is going to be the only way to go. I am wanting to put together a GB on PMK for a Firefly theme set of Brown/Cream and Cream/Brown keycap set with the spacebar being the feature...

I am completely new to all of this, so I will probably have to lean heavy on sharing the ideas with you GB veterans out there...I've posted most prelims over on our MechanicalKeyboards vendor forum, but I may have to go this one (personally)
