$99 for 598s is an awesome price. I have a pair of those(598s) Beyerdynamic dt990s and a pair of fidelity x2s and the soundstage on the 598s by far have the best soundstage. Really amazing for video games and you don't really need an amp/dac to push them! (Of course everything sounds better with one but you don't need it) if I didn't already own a pair I would snag them. Not to mention the chance of snagging a piece of bros DNA so I can clone him and lock him in my basement and make him cast keycaps all day...among other things cough cough

)

Not to mention I paid a $165 for mine on sale

Damn someone buy these cans! They're both great and you're not gonna get quality headphones like this for any cheaper.

I'd buy both if I didn't already own them. They sound awesome without having to invest in an expensive amp/dac. They sound loud and clear hooked up to a computer or a phone.

The AKG K553s were just released and have received a lot of praise.

The HD 598s have such a classy high end look that stands out next to all the other boring headphones.
