I'm guessing that Pokemon GO avoids roads, ditches, and other unsafe areas?

Wait, I just found this article http://nypost.com/2016/07/09/pokemon-go-is-afflicting-players-with-real-world-injuries/

Yikes!

I haven't seen any on the actual road but since some things are on the sidewalk you can get them from the road and there is where the risk of injury lies

This game is really fun to walk around with friends and play. My best pokemon right now is an 89cp Seaking that I caught in my front yard.

Thankfully that is all the New York Post could pull up on the subject. AFAIK The New York post is one of those fringe publications that releases a lot of tabloid-like content.

Pokemon Go sounds like a fun game :)

Pokemon spawn based on time and location. Game polls the location continuously, not based on steps.

BTW, I can play now.

Is travel distance counted?

Because I want to minimize the distance traveled.. to catch pokemon..

Yes, I think someone mentioned the footprints under a Pokemon indicate the distance required to travel until you find it.

Hrrmm.. it seems there is a gps location spoofer,  but you need a jailbroken iphone to get it to work..

Android works too but needs root, obviously.

My game would say that GPS can't find me if I didn't turn off 'allow mock locations"
I'm rooted too.

It seems the developers have gotten wind of gps spoofing..   they're curtailing the effort..

Niantic developed Ingress years ago, they have perfected detection of location spoofers ad other cheats, they also don't hesitate to hand out soft-bans, warning and permabans. All the PokeStops and Gyms are actually user submitted portal data from Ingress and that is why the density of these is more in populous areas.

Hello fellow pokemon trainers,

I've been playing since yesterday and have been having quite a bit of fun. One thing I am really missing is battles.
I'm also not to sure about having to catch the same pokemon over and over to evolve one of them. There seems to be no actual training going on.
Other than those, pretty major, things it's kinda a game I've always wanted.

I like that you have to travel across the land, search far and wide.
It really helps you understand each pokemon and the power that's inside.

For some reason I feel like it is my destiny to catch them all.

Just got back from having supper with my brother downtown.  Now, I normally am pretty low on Pokeballs, but the shear amount of Pokestops downtown was ridiculous. Ending up hitting max inventory at 165 of them.

Nothing extremely noteworthy of catching besides a CP 347 Lickitung. Did manage to see a Dratini, but we weren't about to go out of our way to find it.

Excellent, I don't understand how they didn't expect it to be this large and in demand though, but as always entitled as I am still annoys me that the rest of the world get pushed back for release until they are "comfortable" ffs how can I be the very best now.

Red is by far more dominant, therefore easier to do no work/dropoffs, and claim all that money.

GPS spoofing and car use was a huge issue in ingress (the developers former game). Trust me, they know a lot about the issues.

I caught a drowzee near there earlier today KEK

The driver is ok. My nosey coworker just walked back in to the office with an update. The cops "released" the driver, a coworker came and picked them up so I guess you can rule out drugs/alcohol, but not Pokemon.

What's the pokemon spread like at SM pier? I was thinking of making the trek up there over the weekend.

And yes, can confirm. Waterfront here in Long Beach is also really good.

Yay - made my lunch trip (3 miles) and got credit for 90% of it.

How do some of these people get 1900+ CP this soon?
