Hello, I'm Dom. A little bit ago I saw that the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account posted the official Cyberpunk Yellow Pantone color.
When I saw this I immediately had the idea to make switches inspired by Cyberpunk 2077. The Cyberswitch 2077 is the fruition of this idea!
Since the switches use the official Cyberpunk color they'll match any Cyberpunk merch you may already have!

The switches are most likely going to be a custom version of Gateron INKs.

I have already asked around a bit and people seem to be interested in these switches, so here we are! If you are interested in them please
take the time to fill out the form!

EDIT: I forgot to mention this when I first made the post buy I am working with an awesome vendor for this sale, I can't wait to announce who they are!

I can tell you rushed this to be the first one to post it. Now that you have it you should be posting a major update in about a week or no one will be interested as hype has died down.

I thought the same, so I clicked on the survey.

Linear. Gateron.

Info that should be in the OP to help dispel some of the ‘first post on new account here to cash in thanks’ vibe I’m getting.

Yes it is true that this is my first post here, but I'm not in it for the money.  At the quantity I'm expecting to sell I'll be lucky to break even.  I now realize that I should have put the info in the OP rather than hiding it behind a link, my bad, I have edited it to include more information.  If you have any input or questions I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!

Unless it is something really really good, like dixie's meka mat, please stop using the entire cyberpunk theme, it is awful and this trend should  light itself up on fire.

Personally don't understand the obsession with switch colors. You dont see them anyway, unless you are using a low profile board (but then you only see the switch housing) or blank translucent keycaps (the only scenario where stem color really matters). Nothing interesting in here for me personally.

But still, for OP and the people interested: GLWIC!

Here before the Theremin rant.

In all seriousness, it would be great to have more info about these switches than "it's the cyberpunk colors." Are they linears or tactiles? What manu do you plan on using for them? Are they anything more than a recolor?

Well now I don't want to :( .

His sentiment on "it would be great to have more info about these switches" is pretty much all I can echo on this one.

Hey, I didn't put a ton of info into the post because I'm still talking with manufacturers to see what their capabilities are but I can tell you what I expect the switch to be as of now.  I'm expecting it to be a recolored Gateron Ink v2 housing and stem with a gold 67g spring.  I'm not 100% committed to a specific manufacturer just yet, but I'm expecting to have them produced by Huizhou Jiadalong Electronic Technology Co.

If I'm not mistaken, Huizhou Jiadalong is Gateron, so that would definitely make sense if you do go the route of Gateron recolors. As well, the mention above about Kangaroo switches was in reference to another recent Ink recolor with a fairly similarly colored housing as yours. Ambition aside, as you most definitely do have it in spades getting an IC up this early, I think you could really benefit from doing a bit more research as to the switch options currently out there as well as what the kind of MOQs are going to be for something like Gateron - as I think they may be a fair bit higher than you are anticipating.

At least most of the people being inspired by anime learned their lesson and have started doing research first. This IC deserves zero props considering it's a clear placeholder with no discernable effort put into it. There's a reason why if you go somewhere like KCDesign discord they warn you to do your homework before posting on GH.

I have in fact done my homework.  I already have a vendor for running the group buy and fulfilling orders, I've been in talks with multiple manufacturers, etc.  I know these switches aren't super custom or anything crazy but I don't have the money right now to design anything fully custom.  I'm hoping that I'll be able to make enough money from this to put into making some completely custom stuff in the future.  I've actually been working on designing a new keycap profile/set for over 6 months, but since I don't have the money to do that right now so I decided to put that on pause and make these switches.

I get that they are basically just recolors, but Gateron Inks are great switches and I'm planning to sell them at or below the going price.

If you are trying to do Gateron recolors, you're not going to be able to get them done anywhere but Gateron, so I'm not entirely sure what manufacturers you could be referencing unless this is "like" a Gateron Ink rather than a recolor. (Sorry, that parts not clear).

As well, you said above you were trying to keep margins super thin and at the same time now are considering  profiting off of it enough to make more stuff in the future? I'm just confused as to which one you are doing here.

Finally, you can pretty much buy wholesale Gateron Inks either from Gateron or at about as thin of margins as you can possibly go via places like Aliexpress/Taobao. Again, I may be wrong, but I don't think you can simultaneously run thin margins, make profit enough to sink into future projects, and offer at or below "the going price".

While you very well may have done the homework as you've stated, and I'm not necessarily doubting that you could have, the IC as well as some of the things you've said in previous responses don't really show it off all that well.

i will give major props because these at least are not inspired by anime. thank u very much for doing this

The switches are being produced by Gateron, they will either be INKs or very similar to INKs.  I am hoping to make profit off of it but that's not the reason I'm doing this.  My main goal is to make a cool switch.  If I make profit, awesome, if not, I'll be fine with that.  It all depends on how many I'll be able to sell.
