[IC] Awoo Switches
« on: Fri, 02 April 2021, 21:54:44 »

Hello Geekhack!
Nutty/Jordan here again! I would like to introduce a project that goes along with my current keyset, GMK Harvest:

Awoo Switches

These switches will JWK linear switches with a 63.5g spring.
The material of the switches will be composed of a PC top and a Nylon bottom with a POM stem.
They will come unlubed.
There will also be some accompanying stabilizers in a recolor of the Durock v2's. (render shows a v1)

Thank you Pupper for these renders.

Please fill out my IC Form to help me gauge interest as well as for any criticism, changes, suggestions, or feedback.
Additionally, if you're interested, I do have a Discord if you join, just go into the rules and roles and react to the keyboard role.

GB Dates, Vendors, and Pricing
Date TBD

Vendor Keyspresso

Price TBD

Why not just add this to your IC instead of clogging geekhack with more JWK?

I assumed it was the correct thing to do as it would have a different GB date and potentially not all the same vendors, depending on how its run. My mistake if this wasn't the proper etiquette.

Are you sure these are v2 stabs? These don't look like v2, I don't see the singular lip coming up from the back to hug the wire.

Great-looking switches otherwise, reminds me of Noctua and caramel apples.

I believe they just use V1 rendering since there isn't one for v2.

I didn’t even think of that haha.

I apologize for that mistake, it is supposed to be v2’s this is the v1’s in the renders I now notice. I’m going to try and get that settled. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

if there's one thing the world doesn't already have enough of, it's standard-issue JWK PC top, nylon bottom, 63.5g linear recolors

I feel like this is better suited to be on your gmk set IC, since it is just another jwk recolor

Which JWK linear will Awoo be cloned from? I wasn't particularly impressed with L7 Durock linears, but I've heard nothing but good things about Alpacas and Lavenders.

Update.
These will be unlubed switches.
I was told will be similar to Durock Linear Moss switches.
Currently waiting on a Pantone color deck as the manufacture prefers to work with Pantone so I will have to match RAL colors to Pantone now.
With that color matching in play, I should be receiving sample switch, so when the time comes I should be able to better judge the matching from Pantone to RAL.
