- This project is an offshoot idea I had after designing this little clip for fun: https://i.imgur.com/gkCP21f.mp4
- The subtle pattern design in the main area are stillframes from the Bongocat going clickitty clackitty on a keyboard
- The keyboard coaster smaller mats features a second cat so that whenever you lift your keyboard you get a cute surprise
- There has been further round of revisions and prototypes since the photographs, including the addition of Luna (Moon) and Tiga to the XL range, Black (simple) to the S & M range. Square corners were changed to rounded corners.
- I have reached out to the artist (StrayRogue) of the original meme and they have given their blessings
- Bongomat is an alternative name for this project

Thirding this. Getting permission and collaborating with the original creator reflects positively for reputation, I don't think I'd buy one - and I would recommend against it - without a confirmation that the artist was engaged and on board.

Or at least proof that a contact attempt was made with no reply.

Since posting of the IC, there has been some colourway additions to the line-up:
XL: Luna and Tiga



M & S: Black Simple (Just one cat)


Also deskmats of all sizes will now have rounded corners (instead of the current 90 degrees).
Currently with the non-rounded  90° angle, the manu has to lock and cut off the stitching, leading to inconsistencies. Rounded corners is generally what most deskmats in this hobby are, and I had forgotten to include this in the design file. It would genuinely look better with the cute theme to have rounded corners as well.

Confirmation that groupbuy starts on 13 Dec.
XL size range will feature waterproof surface treatment.  I felt it made sense for a cat themed mat to be avoidant of water.

Just a last call/reminder that the GB for this Catpad ends soon! Some vendors may close their orders a bit earlier or later than others due to timezone differences/New Years.
Thanks to all that participated in making this fun idea a reality, and even if it's a very simple keyboard-related peripheral, I hope it brings joy to all who see it. Happy Holidays and I wish everyone a great 2023.

In terms of ETA, it's a conservative estimate of early Q2 due to upcoming Chinese New Years halting production, and shipping freight times with those regions closer to China obviously being fastest. I won't have exact estimates, and individual vendors will know their own shipments/tracking better than I will once manufacturing is done.

As GB is ending soon, I'll be locking this topic thread. I don't really think a desk pad/keyboard pad really needs its own GB thread, but I'll mention any relevant updates in my Discord server. Given that several rounds of prototypes were done prior to GB and all images are photographs, things should go okay.
