It's finally here! It's so beautiful.

Pretty bummed about this though. My apprehension was not unfounded.

Side note, if any of you guys who have programmed a KMAC had to guess, what is my LED control mapped to? I think it's programmed pretty standard. I asked jil, but in the meantime if any of you can help, that would be great. Also, what should I do about the burr on the corner?

^Try reading through the KMAC DIY thread. i believe someone mentioned a Fn key had to be set, and then once it is, it's Fn+Esc.

It is not mapped to anything, you have to map it yourself if you want LED control.

I got a couple of Wyse boards (840358) in the mail today - I won them from the Indiana guy on eBay who sells them in pairs. They just came in and I was pleasantly surprised at their condition - one seemed nearly perfect other than the dirt on the plate. The other's caps also seemed fine, although a little dirty (nothing a bath can't fix), but there's some pretty gross dirt/muck underneath and I'm pretty sure I saw a very small bug run out of it.

Outfitted my QFR,  putting away most of my MX8100's keycaps besides those needed for moogle. Might seek one out sometime soon but I'm in no rush.. I've spent a lot already in these past two weeks on keyboards haha.

I was also able to get a decent phone camera shot of the vintage/normal mix of black switches on one of them:

I received my plum 96 keyboards in the mail courtesy of IMSTO.  I have to say that I am really enjoying my initial inspection of the keyboard.  It doesn't seem like a super expensive and detailed board, but it gets the job done without complain for lack of function/build quality.  One of my boards was missing its extension legs which is kind of lame, but I don't really use them anyway.  All of the keys on both boards function as they are supposed to.  To keep the reading brief I'll break this into some pros/cons.

Pictures! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7in2l2uur0z360t/lilfscrTfP

Pros
  • 96 Key layout is nice and space efficient.
  • Lots of functions and modding potential.
  • PCB does not suffer from flex and is well mounted.

Cons
  • The 96 key layout has a slight learning curve.
  • Space bar required (IMO) o-ring mod to feel comfortable/have reasonable noise levels.
  • Obvious quality control issue with the keyboard missing extension feet.

I think I am decided: I will be using my phantom without a case, until such a one can be found for it. Phantom's are great, and yours is an excellent example.
