First one uses the same rainbow cap all the way, the other alternates between two caps, whose both placement of the individual rainbow stripes, and the texture as whole, is alternated.

I believe there could be made a couple of adjustments to make it look better, if you have any suggestions please let me know. You could also edit it yourself, of course ;3

Oh and, make sure you view them in full resolution, or the rainbow fukka's occasionally >.>

I like the first one, but it just needs all the number keys to be the same keycap.

I'd like to have the letters of keys we're replacing to be in the blank area, but that means adding alot of keys to the set (so probably a bad idea).

hazeluff: Not feeling it with the lettering definitely takes away from the whole picture in general. Also like you said the cost would be much higher

Yeah this isn't a group buy for a set of all the keys from ~1234567890-= because that would be much higher in cost. If we don't legend them, then we only have to make 2 or 3 different keys, and its much cheaper.

Yeah, was just throwing it out there (I thought it was a decent idea, excluding the obvious cost problems).

Otherwise, I think the big waves would be best.

Okay yeah that. That looks incredible. I like the separate key for the up and down wave, because it gives us variance in the stars. The stars could also be different themselves, like some of them in the different stages of the animation, giving it more realism. Other than that, the only thing I don't like is that one star under the rainbow... it probably won't come out very well in the dyesub.

Understandable, I mostly just wanted to see how it would look (also to give it even more variance).
If anybody (Hazeluff? =D) wants the psd, you can grab it here.
It has the keyboard, and each of the 4(5) different suggestions. I'm not really good with vector graphics (neither am I with bitmap, but what can you do?), so I would suggest Hazeluff (or someone else, if they want to) convert the finalized images to svgs.

I like it ! Perhaps the rainbow on the backspace should get cut slightly, to fit within the keycap itself, but apart from that, it's great ! (>^.^)>

Edit: I should have noted on the blue-background-keys I posted earlier, that I'm not completely confident it's the exact color, but it should be fairly close to that which was stated in the OP (and used in \KL's GB). I'm especially thinking of the purple in the rainbow. Perhaps we should try with a slightly lighter purple to get some more contrast?

I don't think the little bit on the backspace matters as it's just a design we send them.

As for the colors, I agree that maybe we want a lighter purple or a lighter blue keycap. But since that's not decide, we'll just leave it till it needs changes.

In the actual SVG it does, exactly what we send them is what they print aside from positioning. However I'd like to see the rainbow go as close to the edge of the printable area as possible, so if you want to run the rainbow on the two other keys up to the edge that works for me too. There's a lot of controversy over how dark the blue from /KL's gb is, but its a medium blue and a darker purple would provide decent contrast with it, but the darker colors aren't going to show up very well regardless since it's on blue and not white... so expect that purple isn't going to be very visible regardless.
Hazeluff, whenever you've got SVGs you're good with me sending into Melissa for her to give the thumbs up/down go ahead and send them to me in an email. You should still have my email from the other gbs but if you don't lmk and I'll PM it to you.

Don't worry, those are just PNGs. It's just to show you guys roughly how it'll look. I've removed the blue background in my SVGs.

If we can go to the edge of the keycap, why don't we add in as much blue background as possible by having another colour (darkerbluebackground) on the white keycaps? that way it's got some amount of background there. I think it could look better.

What I meant by the rainbow going to the edge of the svg is not that it will actually print to the edge of the keycap, but that it should be at the edge of the image to extend it as much as possible. I honestly do not know how close to the edge of the keycap they can print. We'll know that tomorrow.

Okay just got a reply and started a brief convo about it. She's going to run a test print of them tomorrow to see how they look. The only problem that I forgot about is that they can't dyesub white. That only eliminates the stars, but unless you want to do the stars in a different color, we're going to have to do without them. I'm not sure whether she's going to print them on blue or white keycaps... but hopefully both.

Perhaps the possibility of doing a light yellow for the stars? Since that technically seems appropriate as it would be light and still show off the effect we are looking for.
