Reaper has one of those realforce topre keychains. Maybe he can tell how it was made? I believe those are acrylic as well.
From what I've seen, they have a special (clear) switch housing. Probably a better idea is to copy the mrinterface ones from the DT switch try bag which are, I believe, just topre switches screwed to a small piece of acrylic. (2 screws if memory serves.)

These are OEM springs or something from another company?

These will be OEM springs/rubberdomes from a Topre Realforce board.

It's the rubber dome not the spring that decides the weight of the switch.

Good news everyone.

I have gotten in three topre switches+ stems/housings and I'll try to see if I have any spare plexiglass I can manually work into some designs tomorrow, but we'll have to wait until Wednesday when more stores are open to get into the real fun part :)

Thanks for the offer, but the way the housing is, it's as simple as cutting a piece of plexi to the right shape/size and screwing it in, but I'm looking into some ways to make each switch unique :x

like I said, I'll keep everyone updated with what crazy and magical ideas I come up with :))

Well.... the results are in!

Oatmeal Jizz turns out to be a bad molding material :)

I've ordered some silicone rubber, once that gets in, we'll try again to make a better mold!

However, this resin worked amazingly in degassing itself o.o there are no bubbles throughout the resin, just along the oatmeal outer surface. And as expected, the mold shrunk, the topre housing measures in at .55 inches, our ****ty molded resin cast came out to be .59 inches. I'm hoping the silicone will yield better results... until then, I'll get off my lazy butt and try to get some acrylic fitted to the bottom of this thing... maybe.

Silicone rubber is in, not sure if I'll stream it, since I'll be doing it oustide, and that will require me to drag all my stuff to the garage, where there isn't wifi, and yadda yadda yadda.

The rubber should take 24h, so this is what's going to happen. I'm going to get home today, 1h, i'm going to not do anything for a few hours, 3h, I'm going to cast the first rubber mold, 24h to cure, cast the second rubber mold, 24h to cure, then try to cast the final part in resin, 24h. So hopefully.... I'll have the first decent custom topre housing casted by friday evening :D:D

Also, the semester starts next wednesday, so I'll try to check what kind of access I can get to that plexiglass cutter, and try to get something cut to attack to my mold.

I felt that the ones included in the switch try bags were a bit off. Ensuring that they are made in a way that properly replicates the original switches in mounting distances and feel is probably a good idea.

Hmm... I've never tested a realforce board before so I won't be able to tell if they feel off :/

Honestly, they'll probably feel the same as the switch try bag unless I end up doing something radically different?

Day 2. http://imgur.com/a/KnOOp

The mold was a bit bubbly on the top, but where it mattered it seemed to be bubble free

Second part of mold is curing, tomorrow, we cast our first part!

E: as shown, I used ~100g for the entire mold, which is pretty cool I guess.

He doesn't exactly explain where to get the Topres switches from, nor the clear plastic base, nor the rubber bit either.

Having a drill press would make it easier, but with a steady hand you could mount the housing in a vise and use a hand drill.

For anyone to attempt this we'd probably need to start by buying a Topre keyboard ...
