Maybe I missed it, but was (plate) mounting type listed anywhere?

I don't see it anywhere either,
but there are no mounting tabs on the PCB, so not PCB mount;
no holes in the PCB for plate mount; and
no foam under the PCB that can be seen in renders, so I'm assuming either gasket/sandwich or topmount.

This board is all about looks for me though. No matter what kind of mounting, or even if it sounds horrific, I'll figure out a way to make it sound and feel good.

I'm so hype for this kit/board! I heard that the GB was planned for Q1 2021. Is this still true? And what is the approximate pricing?

How likely will the HHKB and WKL tops be included?

Expected timelframe for gb?

I hope to have more details soon. Testing the prototype is almost complete.

The implementation of window mount and the diffuser was not exactly satisfactory. We will be making some minor changes and ordering another prototype. We are aiming to have the GB in Q1 of next year. Also, it is quite likely that we will be able to offer more units than the previously mentioned estimate of around 200. I will provide more updates as I get them.

Did the prototype give any answers re: likelihood of running this with HHKB blocker option?

Suffice to say with the utterly garbage communication on basic points here, I won't be risking any money on a group buy with them.
Plenty of other keebs in the sea.

Sorry you feel that way. I didn't want to give an empty update but I'll try to keep in mind some people like have an update even if it's just to say "no progress." I hope you find a keeb that you like!

I will be keeping in the silkscreen at this point in time.

We have still not finalized options yet. I plan to have a talk with Jae shortly after the build stream to hammer out some details.

I want to apologize for the lack of updates but that's partly because there wasn't much news. The testing of the prototype has taken longer than expected. The PCB and plate fits fine. But we are still tweaking the implementation of the windows and the diffuser. Also, there is some light bleed from the component side which we wish to address. Finally, Jae has been quite busy on the vendor side due to Brexit woes.

We are aiming to run the GB in Q1 but I don't want to make any promises. I'm just going to take Blizzard's stance on development and say, "It's done when it's done."

I was just wondering how things were going, so thanks for the update.
Personally, I would much prefer that you lean towards the side of taking your time and making this board just right than rushing to get it out. Plus Q1 is already STACKED with a lot of other things so there's going to be quite a bit of competition for my wallet.

I think for me, it's so special because the "exhibition of components" aspect of through-hole boards is truly emphasized here. It's taken to another artistic level for me, in the sense that it feels like you're not just happening to see the components, but they are designed to be displayed front and center (or rather, left and right!).

I'm very excited for this keeb! Jae on the stream said the GB might be shooting for late February. Is this accurate-ish? I might've just been hallucinating since I was very tired.

Also, when the GB goes live, will we be able to mix and match the colors of cases with PCBs, or will they be sold as kitted units?

March would probably be a better estimate. Tweaks to the case has been made and a prototype will be made after CNY.

As for kitting, most likely a universal plate will be kitted as part of the base purchase and PCB colors will be able to be chosen.
