Hullo from South Florida

Completely new to the custom keyboard scene but I love what I've seen so far. Have spent a lot of time watching folks like Tae Ha Kim build works of art. I doubt I'll ever be lucky enough to create something so high end but would love to learn more and maybe build my own first custom kb.

So many amazing and creative keycap designs in the community too! I am torn trying to decide which ones I like best. They make me wish I could buy almost all of them!

Hi barshie. Welcome to Geekhack.

There's a lot more to all things in life than what's perceived to be "high-end". The switch makes all the difference, and there are some fantastic switches out there that aren't that expensive. If I had to choose one with 0 modifications, a $30 Amazon board with Outemu blues is going to be preferable to me over anything with MX blues. Find what you like and want out of a board and make it yours.

What switches have you tried? Have you got any specific tastes yet as far as switch type? (linear, tactile, clicky)

Caps do seem to be a rabbit hole all on their own.
