/dev/tty colors when compared to SP PBT
« on: Sun, 14 January 2018, 08:18:16 »
I forgot to order a WKL kit to go with my MT3 /dev/tty set.

I was wondering whether anyone knows what the closest Signature Plastics PBT color is so I could order a 7u SA spacebar from them to fit my layout until someone sells me a WKL kit or a second GB round happens?

If someone is willing to sell their WKL kit I have a classifieds going: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93307.0

The brilliant white alphas look pretty close to to the SP Ice Cap set, which has the SP color code of "WAN".

As soon as I receive my /dev/tty set I can compare it to my SP color chip set and let you know.

Color code could be WAN, which is PBT. I'd order one of these and see if it's close enough.

I think WAN looked the closest as well, but no one (expect Massdrop and Matteo) has actual caps available for comparison. Would be really helpful zslane if you could do that. :)

I would pm Matt3o and ask what the color code is. Aside form that, PMK could tell you what the color code is. They're pretty nice and always respond to my emails pretty quickly.

Matt3o could probably tell you immediately what the closest SP color is (I assume he has their color chips, but I don't know that for sure). SP (i.e., PMK) wouldn't be able to tell you since they don't have any /dev/tty keycaps to compare with.

Yeah I presume SP could only give a guess like anyone. I sent Matteo an email regarding this. Let's hope he's not too busy. :)

Oh, I totally just assumed that SP was the manufacturer. Didn't even scroll down to the bottom to see that they were made in China. Oh well.

Pretty cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for some other colorways.

Zambumon had some previews up at Instagram for a white-blue-green MT3 set (name was [something] Control if I remember correctly).

Anyone got their /dev/tty yet and could share info on the colors? :)

Okay, I received my set. Good news is that I also received my SA PBT 7u spacebar. The bad news is that SP WAN color is waaaaay lighter than /dev/tty base white. A similar difference as the /dev/tty alphas and beige mods have. Oh well.

Also, do all (PBT) SA spacebars have this really defined PONG when they bottom out? Sounds really annoying and I'm wondering if my switches/keyboard or the space bar is to blame. It is sitting on R7 67g Zealios if that makes a difference. Sounds like someone is banging wooden claves together. Strange.

I'd guess that GKK is closer to the light gray alphas from /dev/tty. That's the color code matt3o used for Granite, and /dev/tty has a very Granite-like colorway.
