[IC] The DO60 PCB - update 2018 Jan 23
« on: Wed, 27 September 2017, 20:56:15 »
Hi guys!
We're  we're Doyu Studio and I'm sennin32.
We're too busy to launch this project this year although we've already edited it.

Support layouts : http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/gists/a1bef8bf2784f5d009c96665a19bfc5e

Update 2018 Jan 23 :
GB Launched!

end of Update 2018 Jan 23 :

Update 2017 DEC 11 :
We found ws2812b is too sensitive to temperature.
First sampling is using normal setting while smt processing.
Makes the failure rate too high.
We're going to make second batch and change the setting.
end of Update 2017 DEC 11 :

Do your own GH60 now! if you never have one before.

IC Link : https://goo.gl/forms/yZyEVn9wiEkqli392

This will be the layout support by final design

We'll also make aluminum plate with anodized.
Makes your project colorful.

Features:
1. Available for standard arrows
2. Keep Shift on the right hand
3. Won't change alpha layout
4. USB Type C
5. RGB underglow LEDs presoldered
6. Both work with ANSI and ISO
7. Switches light support
8. Gold plated soldering pads
9. Split spacebar, support both Filco type 3u Spacebar and 2.75u Keycap
10. SMD parts pre-soldered
11. 3u sacebar*2, use them evenly.
12. QMK ready
13. alpha shifted support

Processing:
Plate Prototyping Processing
add one more extra keys on the right of sapce bar, let 6.25u with arrow

Manufacturer Plate
Manufacturer PCB
Case design Check it out here : https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=92790.0

About manufacturing:
Takes around 2 months to manufacture

Pricing:
PCB : $30 Looking for higher quantity, and make the price as low as $25
Plate : $17 each Hope we can do it with only $12 after higher quantity
Stabilizer : $6 each for 7*2u and 1*6.25u

Update :
2017 OCT 19th
We're modifying PCB for some layouts and RGB underglow.
And communication with parts suppliers/PCB manufacturer.
If we can reach 500 PCs at first batch.
Price might around $25.

Layout Support for once.
There aren't many 60 PCBs with arrow support ya know

Split space bar is what caught my eye.  It's nice to see more PCBs turning up with support for that.

The layout options still seem awkward to me, though.  I'll be holding out for the next round of Banana Split 60.

Underglow and more split space support probably. Pretty good layout options for a low price

To keyboard geeks, it support more layout but with easy to find caps.
Makes it more easy to use for those who are not familiar with 60% keyboards.

To us, we are looking for better QA control.
Better packaging from manufacturer to us, better printing...etc.
We've tried to communicate with suppliers who offer us PCBs for passed few years.
The packaging is bad, QA pass rate is low, makes us spend too much time to fix those issues.
But nothing changes after communications.
Let's do it ourselves!

I'm not sure about holtite.
The hole size is from Cherry datasheet suggestion.
If the socket is design to fit Cherry standard, it will fit.
But I never try that before.

Looks to me like you can only go 7u space with 4 1u on the right, or split space if you want all se arrows =D

For now.
We focus on TMK firmware, and I never study QMK.
If there's many people want QMK support.
We have to do some research.

No,
For now, unless we make a brand new firmware.
Or it will be hard to do that.

Our next project will be a 60% Keyboard with full aluminum case and RGB LED.
Include custom firmware(Support windows only now)

We have to do some research.

QMK is an extension of TMK and uses the same core, if you know TMK it is really easy to add also support QMK (unless you have extensive custom code and non-standard hardware at least).

Yup,
I believe QMK add some more features.
And the setting file must have to support those features.

There's another question added in to the checking form.

It is about do you use TKG as your main tool to flash your keyboard?

We're looking for some possibility to reduce the pricing.
The most possible way is to change MCU.
But TKG seems support only atmel AVR.

Means if we change it into ARM, the only way to flash it is compile it yourself.
Hope I can get some feedback!

An obvious difference to me is that the bottom row layouts with split spacebar are different.  DZ60 supports the [2.25][1.25][2.75] or [2.75][1.25][2.25] split.

This PCB looks great but:
- No screw hole near the space bar (ATMega is on his way?)
- No right screw hole

I think this 2 "issues" will limit the cases choice.

I hadn’t noticed that.  You’re correct.  I would expect all 6 standard mounting holes.  I might be able to live without the bottom one, but we need thr one on the right for sure

I think the bottom will be a real problem if ATMega is crushed by the hole support of the case.

We remove one of screw hole from the PCB because of it is on the stab/switches' position.
I think that won't be a major issue for remove only one hole @@

Only white now :(

It should support if you mean 6 units (114mm wide, 3 keymounts, 57mm and 38mm apart).
I'll test it again when 2nd sample arrive.

We haven't receive the sample yet.
But we've found some bugs/things want to change in first sample :
1. for shorter trackers, we put diode/LED in different direction, which is not a good idea for repairing and looks a little bad.
2. Move LED position to fit the MCU, more reasonable trackers.
3. put all screw holes back include the one near bottom.
4. One of tracker pass the logo on the mask layer, makes it explore
