I finally got back my R1 set from my GF, she had "borrowed" it like... forever ago lol.
I think we're a 2-Taro household. Bring on the round 2!

Also: I would definitely buy a dedicated 40's kit with proper legends.

Designs are in the work, but nothing concrete to show yet, biip has been a busy bee lately.

I do have some kit restructuring however, good renders pending feedback.

Note: 40s legend sizing is just quick and dirty KLE

I also think the base kit is a bit loaded with keys like R3 hack, 5 extra pg up/down, 1u ctrl/alt, etc. I think some of those keys could be removed in exchange for a second tab key for 2 full modifier sets.

Unsure on alpha spaces outside 40s kit, my observation gave the impression this is how things were going lately.

I think the extra tab makes enough sense in boba alphas, as providing more compatibility seems more likely to be used than someone wanting to use 2 sets of mods.

OP updated to reflect current proxies that will be offered, that we will be running from March 2 to 27, and another artisan announcement!

No pics yet, but Death Caps is gonna be doing some Taro caps and I can't wait to see what he does.

Still waiting on updated kit renders for you all, those will be added soon as I get em and we are also officially waiting for pricing, so look forward to that!

Kits are final, sorry.

For the pipe, there's already the 2 in base, and 1 in boba alphas.

The main reason for the one in boba is if you want to do boba alphas + milk tea mods and skip base altogether, unfortunately you lose a little flexibility that way.

As far as 1.5u, if I did 1 set of 1.5u caps, I personally don't like the imbalance of just 1 set of novelties, so I would feel compelled to add a second set of 1.5u, so I just opted to skip them altogether for pricing's sake.

Correct all convex.

No 1.5u was just cause I would want to then do 2 sets of 1.5u novelties, which would wind up inflating the price more than I'd like.
