Delete or backspace on HHKB?
« on: Mon, 16 May 2016, 07:22:22 »
How many of you have a HHKB have set it to output BS when Delete is pressed, maybe specifically to correct mistakes on the last typed word?

I have not, but I wonder whether it is more ergonomic to repeatedly type BS to correct a mistake, or type left arrow,  correct, then End, or even select the word backwards and type over, on editors that allow it, and disregard the question entirely.

This is more related to the original design of the HHKB. Old unix machines had a Delete key, instead of Backspace; see, for example, Sun Type 3.

If you used Emacs (as Eiichi Wada did), Ctrl-D would be delete and Ctrl-H backspace.
