I filled out the form to say I am okay with not getting stabs, if it meant the board gets here faster. It seems as though you'll be getting the stabs before even shipping my board out, so will the stabs be included?

Oh, I definitely realized that after I flashed it. I guess I've gotta just keep at it, or see if there's anyone out there with the same layout of M65-A, and see if I can get their hex file.

I followed these instructions to set up the build environment on win 10 and had no problems at all. In the jc65 repository you'll find 2 ready to use keymaps. From there you can compile the hex file for flashing using either one or make your own keymap. This one here helped as well.

Anyone have a dockerfile with the environment ready to go?  That would be the best way, since we could just spin that up.

Running through another series of QC just to make sure some stuff isn't missed.

Calling DHL to pick up the unaccepted units to go back to Asia to get fixed later this week.

A bunch of units are just sitting here, ready to go, just waiting for the stabs. Just want to have it all here.

Thanks for your patience.

Good to hear. Could we get more info about the boards that opted out of stabs? Think a lot of us opted out figuring they'd be shipping earlier since we weren't waiting on them.

I'm with you. Don't get me wrong, I opted to wait for stabs (mostly because I just moved).  I figured those who opted out would see more shipping over the past week.

Then again, it could be a double nightmare trying to add stabs to boxes that might be ready to go for this who opted out

+1 What's the dealio with the no-stabs orders? I figured those would have gone out last week. It's been almost two weeks since the last day of shipments according to post #2. Hopefully some movement this week!

I would hazard an assumption that if all the stabs are now here, everyone even if you opted out would get stabs if your board didn't get shipped yet.

No stabs orders have been set aside, and those should be going out tomorrow or the day after. There are only so  many, and I have to manually process, look if they opted out, check the parts, repack them. It takes a while for a single box  :p

Currently, my DHL account is on a hold for some reason, and I'm trying to clear that up today.

Nice pics everyone! I'm wondering, Mr. Chan, if those of us who opted-out of stabs are getting ours shipped out? I was hoping that by opting-out it would expedite the process, however I haven't seen an update since I started following the shipping progress.

Same thinking here, but if the stabs are coming next week I might as well just opt-out of the opt-out.

Finishing up the customs clearance. It should be here Monday  :thumb:

Hey Jchan, so if one opted out of stabs for quicker shipping, and stabs are there tomorrow but order hasn't shipped yet, will one be receiving stabs?

Yea, like everyone else here, I was under the assumption that those who opted out of stabs (that we paid for) would have their orders shipped a week or two earlier.

Guess not unless the stabilizers get stuck at customs.

PSA for those who bought the QMK board, its available in the QMK repository under jc65.  This may be obvious to some, or maybe even all, but I wasn't paying close attention so it totally escaped me.

Oh that last link you sent was a life saver. I've finally got it working now. Now I just gotta figure out how to change the LEDs, and I will be golden.

Just go into your keymap.c and create another layer with the RGB control keycodes on it. (You can see a very simple way of doing this in qmk_firmware/keyboards/jc65/keymaps/jetpacktuxedo/keymap.c)

RGB_TOG      toggle on/off
RGB_MOD      cycle modes
RGB_HUI      hue increase
RGB_HUD      hue decrease
RGB_SAI      saturation increase
RGB_SAD      saturation decrease
RGB_VAI      value increase
RGB_VAD      value decrease

The code is already included in QMK, and the pins are already defined in qmk_firmware/keyboards/jc65/config.h
So once you have the controls in your keymap, you're ready to go.

The modes (RGB_MOD) are:

MODE 1, on, solid color
MODE 2-5, breathing
MODE 6-8, rainbow mood
MODE 9-14, rainbow swirl
MODE 15-20, snake
MODE 21-23, knight

Is the delay situation:

A. People who don't care about stabs can get their M-65A sooner than others.

B. People who don't care about stabs will get their M-65A later than others.

C. Not related to stabs at all.

    1. Related to anodization of the keyboards.

    2. Related to jchan's DHL account.

Follow-on bonus question: Are we going to have these in hand by:

Next week?

Within the month?

They have to go back to the factory (to-be-determined)?

Thank you.

Good questions. I’d hope the DHL account issue is fixed by now. I am hoping that by opting out of stabs, my order actually ships (faster) before the stabs get there. Otherwise, why did I opt out?.. 🤔 anyways he said some would ship today/tomorrow. Holding breath to end of tomorrow!

Hi,

A: Set aside.

B: Set aside. Shipping this week.

C: 1. Yes, there are some surface finish issues that I'm not happy about, so we're returning those.

C: 2. DHL account is on hold. Literally can't ship international ones I tried the other day.

Bonus Answer:

Unsure.

Yes, they have to go back to be refinished. This isn't the quality finish you would want.

Extra Fun Fact:

Don't run GB's for more than 200 units :).

--------

Extra stuff.

Very sorry for the delays. There's a lot going on, not only with this, the site, but also, in my life. Being at the hospital this week, and trying to pump this out, my time is really going 50/50 atm.

But in any case, this is priority to me, as I only have two pending GB's I can fulfill at the moment.

In any case, I've decided to not hold a R2 because of the amount of time this GB has taken, which is a lot more than I had hoped. In any case, I feel like there's this urgency and rush that I can't do much about because of the surface treatment, stabs, QC, DHL account thing, and having this weight on my shoulders has resulted in me thinking that a R2 shouldn't be held.

I want to remind everyone that I'm one person, and I don't just twiddle my thumbs all day, and am not trying to hold these boards here with me. I want them out of my hands, and into yours, cheers and have a good day.

And if someone would like to know why I'm in the hospital, it is not because it's for me, but TLDR: Brain Surgery.

I hope everyone knows that I'm committed to fulfilling this, but my time is split at the moment, and I've been spending 8 hours everyday to focus on M65A since it's landed.

I really want it out my hands, and into yours, and I'm truly sorry for this delay.

Hope everything's going okay jchan, sad to hear that you're dealing with that :(

I know I don't speak for everyone but take your time, I know you're working hard and we'll get our m65s when the time is right.

Thanks for everything you do, I appreciate you. Keep your head up and keep doing the bang up job that you have always done. We'll be patiently waiting :)

Lastly, I just want to clarify what I'm asking for; your patience so I can deliver a great M65A to your fingers.

I really want it out my hands, and into yours, and I'm truly sorry for this delay.

I can wait for as long as you need me to in order to fulfill the more important things outside of this hobby.

Wish you and everybody involved nothing but the absolute best,

Take care of yourself and family first mate - we know you are doing your best to close out this GB and appreciate the attention to detail, but hope all is well and best wishes that everything will be okay.

Good morning jchan,

Just looking for a little bit more clarification as for the quality control issues.  Is it all of the remaining M65's that are being sent back for quality control issues?  Also, is it possible to inform the people that will be having their M65 sent back?

Thank you for all your hard work!

He told me that he has more extras than boards needing to be sent back, so this only delays the sale of extra units on his store, but not GB orders.

Right on.  Much obliged.

Knowing there's no r2 makes me wonder how much I could fetch for mine but that would mean dealing with a subpar keyboard.

That's the thing. There's nowhere to go from here. Unless it's the layout or color you don't like, there's really no improvement to be made.
