Good day everyone, so yeah, I am new around here.

I am pushing 40 this year, a professional programmer who is just now starting to get hand problems from using whatever dome keyboards came with the computer I was using for so many years.

To this end, I am looking to build a specific mechanical keyboard with a specific set of features, and have only a little initial knowledge.  I have heard very good things about the Dactyl manuform and have run into problems generating the files needed.  I plan on using some kind of tactile switch, probably Gateron Browns. Additionally, I am looking to do per-key backlighting.  I have already done a few projects that use WS2812 LEDs and would love to be able to use those in the build.  Even if it was just handing over LED control to a ESP8266 (which I have also got good experience using) that would be fine.  So, big big project that I'll be looking for advice on in more appropriate places.
