Keyboard of the Month - September - Nominations!
« on: Thu, 29 September 2016, 07:49:23 »
Hey guys. Yes this is incredibly late. It has been a mad few weeks for me having to finish organising my holiday after leaving it all to the last minute and having my accommodation cancelled four days before we are due to fly out. But here we are for a special extended edition of Keyboard of the Month.

The plan for this is to have this thread run until I get back (16th of October) and then the Vote thread will run immediately after that for 7 days. Then as soon as the vote is over, the nomination thread for October will go up and we will hopefully then be back in sync!

I do have one little thing I want to say though. Please, for regular and self nominations, PLEASE ENSURE THE BOARD YOU ARE NOMINATING HAS BEEN POSTED SOMEWHERE ELSE ON THE FORUM IN THE MONTH IN QUESTION. Last month both Jaffers and Nmur's boards had only been posted in the KOTM nomination thread. My original idea behind this competition was to get the best board that had been posted on the forum in a specified month, then get it to be voted upon, and people can direct others to a section of the forum they may not go on very much to see the work put into a ground-up build, or just see more pictures. That was also my initial idea behind banning self-nominations, so that people would have to see your board on the forum to vote on it.

ANYWAY, here is the nominations thread for September. Last month's winner was Yesguchi's vertical board prototype!

PLEASE remember to have posted the board on another part of the forum before you post it in this thread or it will not be counted! Happy hunting, and see you all on the 16th!

DONT FORGET TO +1!

I like the ideas that have gone in to this one.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I guess this is still open so I'll nominate my baby that I've been working on daily, from scratch, since the 1st of June. I've posted before many, many times in my thread here. This is my Dark Gray X60 with a Stainless Steel top mounted plate with Gateron Blacks and lubed stabilizers in. Probably the only 60% with this layout too!

I don’t want to have to post guidelines or restrictions on the boards, but I may change this depending on the types of submissions we get over the first few months.

This is the rule I was referencing when I posted.

I'll withdraw my entry and enter next month if that sounds sound.
