NYM84 QMK Programming help?
« on: Sat, 08 December 2018, 09:04:07 »
Hi everyone,

I completed putting my NYM84 together last night, but ran into key mapping challenges I'm hoping the community can help with.

The product link is here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/nym-84-aluminum-mechanical-keyboard#overview
The product link provides a link to a QMK guide: https://mechkeys.ca/pages/qmk-programming-how-to

Contained within this guide, is:
Before customizing your keyboard you need know if your keyboard runs bootmapper or QMK. If your PCB does not have a reset button on the bottom, then you have a bootmapper PCB, and this guide does not provide instructions for programming with bootmapper.

However, as shown in the picture, the PCB does not have a reset button on the PCB:

This seems to contradict MD's product description of this being a QMK PCB. Further reading of the instructions indicate that a PCB can be put into dfu mode using the aforementioned reset button or KC_RESET key combination. Unfortunately, i have no idea what this key combination is for this board.

I'm stuck at his point, and would appreciate some pointers from the community. Has anyone successfully built and configured this board recently?

[EDIT]

I'm updating this for anyone who find themselves in the same situation - I eventually figured this out by using a bootmapper client (see https://meckeyalpha.com/pages/guide-on-bootmapper-client)
