Has anyone tried out the ROCCAT Kone
  • ?  I have heard that it is the end all be all mouse but I am not so sure.  I think that the G500 is pretty great.....

Also, what is a nice laser mouse that goes to at least 3000CPI and is very light?  I would prefer something with an up-to-date sensor of course.  Just thinking about trying out a lighter mouse.... Thanks to anyone who helps me out with this!

I also ordered a new mice: a R.A.T. 9.

It will be likely too heavy for my taste, but I'm too curious to test it.

In the worst case I'll sold it quickly and I will stay with my trusted M705 and with the batteryless wireless mouse likely built by a4tech.

The mouse arrived today, really a great idea poorly realized as I suspected.

BTW the receiver / battery charger lasted for 5 /10 minutes then died.

Very good for a 100€ gadget

It's the most expensive mouse on Amazon.  $130.

Just like the Topre the most expensive is not always the best.

I get it for a good price, and i like how it works, but some choices about ergonomics are really incomprehensible, like the red button not aligned with the side wheel.

One can move the thumb rest to made easier to reach the former or the latter, but not both.

I would have gotten a G9x if my G9 hadn't started giving my hand some comfort issues after about a year.

Settled on the Dell Alienware Tactx which is a G9x rebrand with a slightly different shell (no grips). It's great.

I'm curious to try the Mionix Naos 5000, Roccat Kone + and upcoming Puretrak Valor to see how they compare.

What are your thoughts on this mouse?

I've got one coming in the post in the next few days.

Does it do what my old M950 did and have a quiet but very annoying high pitched squeal when you use it wirelessly?

I've had plenty of mice, far too many actually.  I've had an uncountable number of wireless Logitech mice, and other random non important mice, but here is a list of the ones that I feel are worth mentioning.

Current: CST LtracX (best trackball available, but could be better still.)

#1 small mouse: A4tech x750bf  (really wish i could still find these in the USA, my last one finally died)

#1 large mouse: Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (most comfortable, smooth tracking, loose scrollwheel(which is better))

Other Mice:

microsoft Intellimouse optical 1.1 (best weight, good texture, smooth tracking, side buttons are wrong though)

microsoft optical 1.0 (best texture, would be my #1 if it had side button's and the tracking that the 3.0 has)

a4tech x750(smooth texture ruins it)

Worst mouse: Razor copperhead (jittery, bad drivers, soft rubber wears quickly, mushy feeling soft scrollwheel)

Best mouse that I don't like: Logitech 518 (hurts my pinky).

Most uncomfortable mouse: Contour mouse (large) (really it's just painful if you have to keep lifting it)

EDIT:
Ok I forgot, I don't know if this one counts, but I think the absolute worst "mouse"/input device that I've owned award has to go to the OCZ Neural Impulse Actuator.

DO WANT.

The only way I found to buy these mice are from e-bay and I'm not used to it since I've never used it.

I have the normal edition but I always have wanted the Asian edition or the Korean edition( the one with orange wheel). I know it was available time ago in USA as in ASIA but as always here in Europe...NO.

Do you have any pic?

Primary - Razer Copperhead (First Edition 2005).

Recently I purchased a R.A.T. 7, DeathAdder, Imperator, and Kinzu.

R.A.T. was too heavy for me, even with all the weights removed.  Good concept, but I didn't really like it.

DeathAdder is nice! Perhaps a touch too big for my tastes though.

Imperator was my girlfriend's fav, I like it quite a bit too, smaller than the DeathAdder.

Kinzu is very small and lightweight.  I like it, but haven't really spent much time with it since I recently replaced the mouseskates on my Copperhead and have been reluctant to retire it.

Sick and tired of the 3.0 malfunctioning because I move too fast when trying to RJ in QL.

By overclocking the intelli-mice(WMO, IO 1.1, and IE 3.0) polling rate past 250hz you gain an additional 0.5 meter/s of tracking(1.0 m/s to around 1.55m/s) enough to avoid most average low sens tracking problems. Though you should really overclock it more to 500hz or 1Khz(if your motherboard can stay at 1Khz stable). Sure it's not as massive meter gain compared to say the MX300 if anyone still has one but the intelli with the polling rate increase can handle most low-sens users.

As for the valor they've changed some things on it aside from grip paint they just announced they changed the microswitches to the Omron D2FC-3M "Yellow Top" switches. Plus they are using the ADNS-3090 which could be considered one of the best optical sensors around if your sticking with optical.

I had mine OC'd to 500Hz but it still was reaching malfunction where it would just stop moving.

Though now it's at 125Hz due to LANs I've been going to do not allow restarts of the computers.

Funny thing is with the readydriver macro at start-up, a while ago I changed the boot sequence to 0 seconds instead of 4 seconds, so the macro couldn't actually do anything, was locked out of my computer and forced to install the OS on a new drive.

I knew the changes about the Valor, been lurking about on their Facebook and on esreality threads for some time, what are those switches like? I actually have no idea about mouse switches even though I think of myself adept in mice and keyboards.

Most don't but that's mostly because most mice use the standard "white/clear" stemmed omron(D2FC-F-7N), TTC, and zippy brands(about 2-5 different switches most often).

In Asia there's a few who follow modding their mice and switching out the switches to other types(different forces, brands, feel, reaction etc.etc.) except they remove the levers, they stick with downforce rather than lever-action. Most view it as what is the point if the microswitch is so small but it does make a difference. Most of the microswitches are pretty much unknown due to the fact the same ones are always used and plus it's harder to work with a mouse than it is with a keyboard in regards to switches.

Today I picked up another Contour Rollermouse: A Rollermouse Pro. Although the pro/classic difference is insignificant IMHO, I definitely like the aesthetics of the black model over the white.

This one cost [strike]\KL's taxes[/strike] a whole $2.00. They just keep getting more and more expensive each time I find them.

It's not just the small size but the weight was reduced even further in the salmosa "asian or pro edition".

And the reason why people would want the salmosa in particular is because it works great for claw grip users or for fingertip users. Combined with the fact as to how light it is it doesn't cause that much fatigue. Which due to it's lightness can be great for either long-term gaming, small hands, specific grip, forcing/adopting new grip, RTS gaming, and to either high or low sens "lifters" who continuously lift up their mouse though for low sens gamers some tend to use a small amount of acceleration(as in quake). Continous mouse lifting 1, Continous mouse lifting 2, and Continous mouse lifting 3.

The only real negative of it was the fact that it didn't have a flash memory chip to store profiles, it relies on a flip switch underneath like the abyssus. And it has mouse prediction which some don't like. Kinda strange to both the salmosa and abyssus that razer went that route rather than the usual flash memory storage which would have made them more popular due to being able to flash them.
