Here was my last pic from when I bought my other audio gear around Christmas.

Is that a pair of Mad Dogs next to the Audeze cans? And I agree, the audiophile community is very odd.

They are Fostex T50RP that I modified myself using the same pads and comfort strap used in mad dogs. I used instructions for modding from headfi which are surprisingly detailed and backed up by measurements which is very rare outside of the DIY speaker community. I use them at work where I don't want to use open headphones and keep my lcd-2 tied to my desk at home.

very nice audiogear you have there. I totally agree on your option about how the audio community recommend stuff. what do you use to power those beautiful kef ls50s?

Thanks. I'm using an Emotiva mini-X a-100 that I bought around Christmas during their last sale for around $170. Some in the audiophile community would consider it not powerful enough but I haven't even been past half volume on them so I don't really know what they are getting on about. I also use the mini-X to power my audeze cans which is a great combo via an input switcher so it serves double duty.

We all know they want their ears glowing with radioactive energies with as much headroom as their "big boy" amps have in power, lol

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I picked up a last gen model for $40 shipped from best buy, it's a lot better than cheapo Logitech mouse I had

I love the DPI setting switcher (I mess with photo editing and graphic creation a lot so sometimes I need the mouse to move fast and sometime I need to move as slow as a snail

Got a sticker today. Maybe not so important, but hey, might as well give thanks to BunnyLake. Humorously, peeling off the application sticker took some of my Race S's white paint with it. Good to know how weak the paint is!

Someday somebody will best me, but it won't be today, and it won't be you.

I love these.  Going to have to make one for myself after I get the Key Con order done.  Those things are 3 and a half hours worth of half hitches for each puller.

Are you using some sort of core for that or is it rope all the way through? Either way, it looks absolutely beautiful.

I am using 6 strands of the same cordage as a core.  It is much easier to do the ring bolt hitching around a soft core then bend it to shape than trying to tie around a hard core and have it look right with that tight if a radius.

I am using 6 strands of the same cordage as a core.  It is much easier to do the ring bolt hitching around a soft core then bend it to shape than trying to tie around a hard core and have it look right with that tight if a radius.

I'd love to hear more about it sometime. My dad is a sailor, has raced in world championships, and won north american championships. I grew up around boats and ropes (lines :P), and dabbled in ropework a bit, but never actually made anything more usable than a coaster.

I got a set of metal number punches, 3mm. I wanted something a bit more arty for some external numbering. Seems to stamp well on the test strip, no doubt I will screw it up nicely when it comes to the finished product :P
