But fundamentally as a game LoL is very bad in my opinion. You know how blizzard makes a game and it's right in almost every way. Well LoL made something and just threw it out. Very unpolished and then make the gameplay/mechanics really really imbalanced. They can't decide where they stand on game balance. Where is the fun in playing LoL when 99% games are just 5 people jump in and the higher dps wins. Crowd Control seems almost pointless and almost every new hero is "tanky dps". Theres a ton of things they do in balance that either goes against their phylosophy of how the game should be. The worst is making people have to get the "right" runes to be at 100%. Dota and HoN start everyone off equal so its a game of skill, not who's played so much they can get runes for all of their heroes.
Back onto it being polished, the game came out with Adobe AIR as its foundation of a UI. It looked terrible. I know this doesn't affect things too much, but the UI was so inconsistent it was different in game and in the game lobby.
I think one of the biggest problems I have with the game, is just how often they have to balance heroes. They like see "oh this is slighly OP" and then just nerf it to the ground just to notice they went to far. This is especially true when they make new heroes. Balancing needs to be slow and let the meta-game settle. People learn how to deal with what they THINK is OP.
There's more to my rant, but I'll write up my rage another day.
I do enjoy the game, but only because I troll really heavily and I like playing with friends. But The game itself gets like a 5-6/10 in my books.
That's just my opinion tho, I'm not saying "it's terrible and noone should play it and if you do, you are probably a horrible person".
The game is great for people who like playing casually and is nonetheless "FUN".
You may call me an elitist jerk, but that's just how I see it.
Don't get me wrong, I still have fun in it when playing with my friends (enough to overlook things I dislike about this game).
Anyway. I'm not here to **** all over this game.
