So here’s another unverified update from EVE, he already shipped the brass weights mentioned by Alex somewhere above, and that they’re on their way. He also said his shop moved to a new location so the shop hasn’t been producing as much parts as they want. Take both of these statements with a grain of salt, especially since I used Google Translate.

All these setbacks but the Chinese GB and non priority GB finished within months.. Thanks for keeping on top of this, Thesis.

I’d like to get an idea on how many kits are unfulfilled, so please fill out this from if you’re still waiting for your kits/s. I can’t promise this will help (I think it does help if I know details) so I am not forcing anyone to fill this up, I’m just trying to do what I can.

Maybe when this GB actually closes I can convince a vendor to do the numpads, even a small GB. Also, I’m waiting for a couple of weeks to see if the remaining sets actually ship before trying to reach zFrontier again.

Pretty sure the only reason I was getting replys is because I went to the china zfrontier website and raised hell with his superiors. Also every email I sent was CC'ed to about 5 different ZF emails. Alex likes to ignore anyone he can, you just have to make sure lots of people at ZF see the email.

Kind of curious about aftermarket PCB support for this. I understand the hineybush pcb will work but it is not readily available outside of group buys. I have heard that the Suo and Leeku pcbs from TX keyboards will work. Can anybody confirm that this is the case?

Here are the pcbs i'm referring to.

https://gyazo.com/c81c04cc71a57b48d65d0cff6c727300

https://gyazo.com/eeac4288685d6b395011cb5791561f22

They look pretty close to the Kira pcb, and it looks like it "should" fit, but would like to know for sure before I pick one up.

I know the leeku TKL87L3 will fit for sure. The SUO should also fit but is unconfirmed at this time, as long as the kira 80 plate will support both north and south spacebar stabs (it should from looking at pics) then it will fit.

KIRA 80 is also listed on the TKL pcb compatibility list : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GpM--fKeDw_tIDZj4m2jmbMavSyXeOu3QHzfTJwz-IM/edit#gid=0

Thanks for the quick response! So the Leeku PCB that I linked a photo of will 100% work? I don't see an indication that it is the Leeku TKL87L3, the site just says "PCB (TKL) (Leeku)"

Stab cutouts for the plate should support both directions except for backspace, I designed this mainly with Leeku PCBs in mind unless he made changes.

Also Alex has started replying to me again, he explained all the issues he/they faced and why the things that happened, happened. I'm not saying this to make excuses for anyone or lay blame though, just letting you guys know that I am currently updated and I'm just glad that things are moving forward. Seeing shipping invoices sent out is a good sign. There are still some issues that need to be dealt with and I'm trying to assist zFrontier and EVE to resolve them and they do seem to be intent in making things right.

My kit has arrived safely! It was delivered earlier today.

Don't have time to build it straight away, but have looked at the parts. The Poseidon Blue keyboard looks great, although there's a very minor dent in the upper right corner of the bottom case. But you'd be incredibly nitpicky to be bothered by it. Pretty much insignificant.
Both the brass plate and the alu plate lacks the KIRA cutout branding, and just has a hole in it's place, but it's not visible when built anyway so it's not a concern to me. The Pearl Blue aluminium plate looks nothing like the Pearl Blue pictured. It's way closer to a silver:ish gray with slight blue tint, but it may just be my current indoor lighting. Will have another look at it tomorrow in natural lighting.
Also can't find any rubber feet bumpons in the package, but maybe zFrontier delivers without them? My Leaf80 from zF was also sent without. I've not been in that many keyboard GB's so I don't know if it's standard procedure to source them by oneself. In any case I have a few that probably fits.

All in all I am super happy with the kit. Thanks to Thesiscamper for pushing for updates and more information when there was no communication. That also goes for other GB participants that got us extra info whenever possible. Thanks everyone <3

No. 101 arrived safe and sound in Berlin! :D

Everything looks fine! The Poseidon Blue looks really nice in person and quite different on my iPhone picture tbh, but will attach a couple of photos anyway.

Even if I’m not a big fan of branding on boards, I think the bag looks great. And these sides!!

My plates (alu/brass/poly) all have no Kira on it, but that’s fine for me. Side note: I got four bumpers (@Bubblegum).

Love the work you did with the board thesis!! Thanks!

Received my pearl blue. The anodisation of the case is nice.

The aluminium plate has the Kira cutout but looks like the case will cover it.

Received small 3M bumpons in the bag.

Got some extra bumpons from a local store for my Leaf80. Pretty sure they will fit here also! Thanks though @forevermadrigal

Anyone else got a problem with their brass plate? My GMK Screw-in stab won't fit in the right side cutout for 6.25u space. The cutout is not big enough.
I have an extra aluminium plate in my order. There it is a tight fit, but it is doable. Just a bit annoying because I wanted to use the brass plate for this build. I guess it's possible to file the plate down a few mm though :)

I can't believe by some stroke of dumb luck, I got number 42.  :D Used to be my jersey number.

I didn't have much time to check anything else out, but I did notice customs sorta haphazardly repackaged the box and I think that's what caused the mini USB connector to get smashed: .

Hopefully it's just cosmetic and nothing else is wrong with the PCB...

If I need to replace my PCB, anyone know if the TKL one from kbdfans (https://kbdfans.com/collections/pcb/products/kbdfans-kbd8x-pcb) would fit? I did some comparing of two images in photoshop and it looks like it might, but not sure.

Well, mine arrived today...

Zfronteir neglected to send me my extra PCB. I already have an email out to them about this. Hopefully they don't give me any trouble about sending another.

What I'm more concerned about is that my brass weight absolutely will not fit inside the case cutout. The "K" in Kira is about 1mm larger than the cutout most of the way around. It won't even begin to fit, which they should have caught that in QC.

I don't want to send it back because I know it will end up needing to go back to Eve and I won't see it again 'til 2021. I guess I'm going to try my hand at Dremeling down the "K." Wish me luck.

Edit: Dremelling was a success.

Also, don't forcefully tighten them if they feel like they don't go any further. They strip pretty easily as I found out the hard way :'(

Same, why I asked because none of the screws I tried were the right length.

Thanks Thesis, I ordered some button top screws.
