Fully Programmable Datahand keyboard
« on: Tue, 31 July 2012, 14:45:01 »
Hi, I'm looking for cheap/donated non-working Datahand keyboards or parts to use as a base to create the following:

Stage 1:
A fully programmable Datahand controller with macro and USB support based on a teensy board.

Stage 2:
An integrated trackball or other pointing device either in the keyboard wells or as a ring to wear in one of the fingers.

Stage 3:
A glove-like portable Datahand keyboard that can be used while standing, walking on a treadmill or other positions without having to be in a fixed position.

Stage 4:
Bluetooth support.

Stage 5:
Create replicas using a 3d scanner and printer.

What do you get for donating or selling your non-working Datahand cheap?

I'll give you full access to all the source code and instructions including parts list. If you don't want to perform the conversion yourself and I have spare time I can also perform the conversion of one of your Datahands for you.

How long will it take?

Since I have a full time job and will be working on this project on my spare time I can't guarantee any dates, however I can tell you my RSI symptoms offer a lot of motivation to get it working as quick as possible.

If you're interested or have any questions contact me for more information.
