I just cut my wrist ...

I had been puttying a picture frame before painting it. I had laid its sheet of glass on my bed but forgotten that it was there when I went to bed. *Crash*

I had to apply my largest band-aid on the diagonal to cover the gash. I am usually a fast healer but I should really inspect it tomorrow. It did not hurt until just now. I just hope that there is no glass inside the wound.

Missouri state Senator Nick Schroer sponsors a bill that would allow senators to duel one another — in the Senate chambers! – legally.

Small apartment. Running out of space. Not ideal, no.

I cut my wrist a while back on porcelain, needed stitches,   It's been 2 and a half years, office people still make suicide jokes on my behave..
Ouch. That didn't look good.

I didn't think my cut was a big deal, but I went to the emergency room anyway. Only a ten-minute walk to the hospital, otherwise I might have went tomorrow instead.
Four stitches! A tetanus shot! Antibiotics! Yay!

My new scar will also also be straight across near the blood vessel, so of course this will also be real easy to misinterpret ...
Mine is at least further up the arm so a shirt sleeve should be able to hide it effectively.

I feel a bit ashamed that I had to spend the nurses' time. They were a bit understaffed because it is the only emergency room in the northern part of the city (The emergency room of the other main hospital in the city had closed down... after the hospital had moved into a fresh, new, clean building, which does not work in any way for anything and is the fifth most expensive building in the world. A huge scandal by any means, except that the responsible politicians don't seem to think so and people are too afraid that the other parties are going to raise taxes to vote them away in the last election... Sorry for the tangent, but it is also something that makes me angry)

I went to a psychiatrist for the first time in my life last month. After twenty minutes of talking her first solution was medication.

Most people get into medicine for the money.. Passionate doctors are rare..

It's not surprising that the system has become corrupt, where the business model is to treat symptoms perpetually, to extract as much money as possible, to prolong sickness , even to give you a new sickness by the ways of side-effects..

Sigh...  rotten..

Recently I started the process here by seeing the general practitioner and for ‘men’s health’ it seams to be a two-pronged approach: medicate to temper (suppress?) the suicidal ideation, along with psychiatry to work through the root cause and with CBT to recognise the personal triggers and confront them prevent spiralling down again.

Anyway, that was what I got out of it.

I had a longer reply done at first but I did not want to sound too preachy...

Medication is never a solution. Medication should only be used as a tool to make you more susceptible to therapy. The purpose of the therapy is to delve back into what was the root cause of the dark thoughts that caused the depression, and "disarm" them: to start changing your views so that they do no longer bother you. In the end, that is a process in your mind, but it should really be a psychiatrist's job to guide you through it IMO.
The first month of "antidepressants" are horrible: lots of added anxiety as a side-effect of the drug. It is important that the patient is checked upon for suicidal tendencies.

And BTW, some people who call themselves "psychiatrists", who have college degrees and take clients are really not suitable for the job because they have the wrong attitude.

That's just not how medical works ATM..

Good doctors exist..  but, overall, it's driven by greed..

They want you in that chair forever,  that's the problem..

And because you are in a vulnerable spot, having mental issues/ trauma,  it is an even more dire situation than it appears.

They're wolves, fattening the patient up for slaughter.

The DSM,  TOTAL UTTER BULL****..  it's thoroughly designed to push pills.

Like how they kept extending the age criteria for ADHD to sell medication to the very young and very old.

Well, they're giving you the lowest dose..

The chronic patients build huge tolerances over time, so they get these mega doses,  eventually, many of them become opioid addicts.

Well, most of the long term users have irreparable damage,  so actually the best way to deal with this (though controversial) is heroin allowance,  so they literally just prescribe heroin to the addicts,  and they live a semi-normal life without being on the streets/ crime/ desperation / disease.

CBD is a good thing, but mostly ineffective, because it's a physical thing which has been broken in their brains.

I think I'm actually depressed in addition to my normal 'depressed' attitude.  The difference?  I can't reply to anything as I doubt my thoughts and opinions are accurate and/or relevant enough to be worth saying.

I am in the exact same financial and professional position I was in 15 years ago. All this work, energy, dedication, and learning has been for absolutely nothing - a total waste of a decade and a half. In fact if anything I am far worse off now than I was 15 years ago, and no matter how much effort I put in no one even wants to so much as give me a chance.
I'm tired, disillusioned, and broken. Tired of being sad all the time, sick of being angry, done with being alone. At my ropes end, I think this might just be curtains for me I just don't have the heart or energy to keep trying to make this life work.
Going to keep riding this train to the very bottom, hopefully that will be enough to finally push me to end this miserable trash life.

Before you do anything crazy..

There's always enlisting..

I am in the exact same financial and professional position I was in 15 years ago. Not sure about in the US but not here - no-one wants old people in the military and depending which branch 'old' starts at 30 and by 33 (my age when I looked) I could only join the Navy in a couple of positions out of the hundred or so advertised or be a reserve (which isn't a real job)

Don't know what to say noisy, if I had no hangers on (usually known as friends and family) who I didn't want to upset I'd have reached the same conclusion.  Life's not hard but it's not rewarding either and if something's not rewarding why keep doing it?  The only reason is the hope that tomorrow someone or something amazing could appear/happen and it would be a shame to have missed it, but the older we get the less likely it seems.

I know this canada guy who enlisted at 30.. not sure what he joined.. heck, didn't even know Konoha had guns..

Also, doesn't have to be a career/job,  just to do something with other peeps should get the ball rolling....

I was at the home depot the other day, they were having their morning floor meeting, everyone looked like they were happy and having fun.. w/ the -Go Team- speech and they all clapped n smiled and stuff....

Meanwhile, Tp4 who was only there to purchase dat dewalt hand planar to fill the void in his soul....

Didn't even get the planar in the end, looked at some saw blades, then went home..

Waited 10 months for an appointment, finally got a letter through the post that it was at a time I couldn't make due to work.  Couldn't have been while I was off for two months, that would have been too easy...  After spending 3 days calling them I finally spoke to someone to rearrange it.  Was told someone was on holiday but they would fit me in around the time and dates I gave.  Got home today to a "you didn't turn up, guess you don't want an appointment so you're off the list" letter!  It's the 21st century, why are they still using post-it notes for phone messages rather than putting an e-mail address on the letter?!  Trying to phone again because that worked so well last time
