Hello, Crazy Designer from Angry Miao here. Today I would like to share something we have been working on, a kit to transform the flex of CYBERBOARD R2 and R3.
CYBERBOARD R1 originally came with a Top Mount, which we changed to a Gasket Mount with R2. But with the 400 day delay of CYBERBOARD R2 caused by complications in the manufacturing of its body, its Gasket Mount doesn't really feel top notch when compared to the current top-level competition. We have listened to your feedback and decided to design an exclusive flex kit with 2-level adjustable gasket flex for CYBERBOARD R2 and R3. Check it out:
When it comes to feel, we've made cutouts in the alpha area of the PCB, to achieve a soft and elastic typing feel. Hotswap and RGB functionality are retained.
We also reduced the thickness of the PCB from 1.6mm to 1.2mm for that soft feel. Stabilizers come with transparent silicone pads to fit the 1.6mm PCB stabilizers, ensuring the big keys feel great as well.
The plate material was changed to POM and adopted an individual cutout design for both sound and softness.
To further improve the typing sound, we use PORON gaskets, PORON foam and PORON switch pads. These are supersoft and have a slow rebound.
