Anyone want to trade their F10 key for an un-doubleshot version?

My girlfriend said you can have hers as she doesn't care about doubleshots.

I have sent pm to everyone with the postage cost. As I said in the emails can you gift or pay the paypal fee as I have had to pay all the fees for the boards payments and have lost money sorting all this out.

I haven't bought or sold much here, but since joining Geekhack a few months back, I got the impression that the (sometimes unstated) convention was for the buyer to be responsible for the PayPal fee (or an additional 3%). That's how it's worked for all my transactions with Geekhackers - as a buyer or seller - regardless of whether this was made explicit. No exceptions - I just checked my PayPal account.

That's what I thought but other people obviously didn't. A bit annoying as I am doing this as a favor and haven't made a single penny (actually because of paypal fees I'm about 3gbp out of pocket).

C'mon guys, let's do the right thing - it's not too late to make up the difference. Awfully kind of Fossala to do this.

I was planning on doing just that. Is there a way to check with paypal how much of your money the seller will receive? I though they had a feature like that, but I didn't see it this time.

Let's hope the British international post is good :)

Fossala,

I've just got two of these boards from ebay , the one with 100% double shots has a black plug.  The one with a mixture is from a later batch and has a purple plug.  Does that match with your batch?  if so, we could have a way of cherry picking the 100% doubleshot 'boards from the seller...

I am sorry but my girlfriend was supposed to post the boards today as I am busy with work, but she is ill. I have organised my brother to come by tomorrow to drop them down the post office. Sorry about the delay I was just not expecting to start a new job.
They are all packed up and should be in the post by midday tomorrow.

Tell your girlfriend to get well soon :)

Looks nice.  I'd bet the function keys on the right side aren't doubleshot, but it's likely that the rest are.  If you're thinking of re-programming then it's important to check that there's a suitable template in softprog first.

I've got one of these and you're perfectly right: the coloured function keys on the right are not doubleshot, but engraved and infilled. All other keys are doubleshot, including those lovely blue arrow keys (but note that on another Access model I have, the blue arrow keys are engraved/infilled instead of doubleshot).

I was watching you guys, in the last few days. I wanted one Access too, but was too late. What do you intend to do with them  and how is the typing experience with those keyboards ? All the keyboards I have, I use them at work or at home. Will you use them at work, for instance ?
I like the minis, I have 5 Cherry G84-4100, which I use on a daily basis. I'd like to say how much I appreciate what fossala did, a very nice and friendly job.
He's a really nice guy.
Those Access boards look colorful nice, but how good they are for a normal 9-5 work pace ? The space bar looks short and too far
to the left, for my fingers at least.
tks

I dunno: I'm pretty accurate with my spacebar hits, so I'm sure I'll be fine with it; as far as layout goes: I fully intend on modding it to a better layout, and I'll figure out a good position fro the spacebar then. as far as in the workplace, I'm not allowed to bring in keyboards, so I can't help there.

I also will probably end up modding it to something other than cherry blacks later.

The space bar is heavy because under it there are 2 switches.

Poxeclipse - Pretty much ditto dorkvader.  I bought these to play with the layout.  Luckily for me, my employer lets me bring in my own keyboards - I rotate keyboards at work quite often so I'm sure they'll be used in anger at some point.

I don't tend to retain the double width spaces on these boards anyway.  They cover two switches and are just too stiff to feel comfortable.

Yes, got those, thanks.  Solves a mystery at least.  Also saved me having to take them off the board for cleaning - very civilised.

Jelly you have yours already. You think thats bad, it's nothing in POS board. Trust me. Worst ones I have got was 1, from a hair salon which had tons of hair clipping, and shampoo, lotion, whatever in it; and 2 one from an auto mechanic which was covered in engine grease and etc. Took ages to clean both of them.
Looks like was from a laundrymat or something, all that lint.

Yeah, I came up with a Dvorak layout already. I'm still deciding on the split one I'll do later.

Mine came in bytheway. One was dirty, the other pretty clean. Thanks for the F10 :)

I notice the non-DS boards have a extra shift key instead of the SPEC-key. I was kinda hoping all the alphanumeric keys would be flat for easy rearranging, but they're not. Oh well, I might know where my cherry doubleshots are going!

I cleaned all my keycaps (the non-DS keypad ones are awful and still cleaning) and noticed diodes under each key. I also took them apart before using ("Don't turn in on, take it apart!") and the PCB says 1999 on the keyswitch area, and the controller says 2001.

I'm pretty excited about those NKRO diodes.

Yes, it is nkro. I have non DS with SPEC-key, which is itself not doubleshot... so sorry to ruin that theory. I am still working on my layout. The 2nd layer macros stuff is giving it fits. Also I can't seem to get the LED to indicate the layer like it says it can. Slowly but surely...
[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 38201[/ATTACH]
It looks like a boring old qwerty, because it is for the most part. I will still need it for normal typing for doing searches etc, and need a familiarish layout. Still need to find some better caps for a few keys. Don't like having different profile on same row, drives me nuts so I didn't use a lot of the ones that came with it. I also switched most of the alphas to Wyse, and added some other random caps I had already. I really was expecting all of the caps to be R1 too.

I got mine on Thursday (my birthday, sick timing). It was far dirtier than the one pictured. I didn't take snaps cause looking at made me feel sick. Like a half digested Wookie (but with some staples in him). The board is spotless now ofc. Only my alphabet is doubleshot. Going to put this thing to some use next week. Thanks fossala.

On my "full doubleshot" one, here are the keys that are not doubleshot:
  • cancel
  • F5
  • F7
  • F9
  • F11
  • Spec-key
  • blank enter (key at bottom right)
  • space
On my "non-doubleshot" only the A-Z keys are doubleshot (and F10 thanks fossala!).

Hmmm, something is strange here. I don't know what happend so all I can do is apologize, I should of checked them more thoughtfully. Just checked mine and some of mine aren't doubleshot, enter, caps lock and f5.
