Is it correct I was charged for shipping btw, since I selected to have shipping cost combined with future GB's?

Yes, you paid the shipping with this order, so next order(s) will have reduced or free shipping. :)

I noted to get Jan+Feb+March shipped together. But if there is no March GB then can I just get Jan+Feb shipped out? If thats a pain in the b-hole then no sweat  :thumb:

Sure, I can do that. Or you can wait until the April buy. Whichever you prefer. :)

Just wanted to give everyone a status update on this buy. I placed the order with SP a couple weeks ago. They haven't been completed yet, but I suspect these may take a bit longer to ship than the January caps, due to the Alpine Winter re-run that SP is doing. I will let you all know if I hear anything. Until then, we wait. :)

FYI, I'm probably going to take a month hiatus from these, so I can focus on JD45 pre-orders, and not have group buys running concurrently. So the next monthly buy will be in April.

I doubt it will take that long. I am assuming that SP's production schedule should have the February caps to me in about 3-4 weeks from now or less, and I will start shipping them soon after. I have no backlog, as I already shipped all the January orders, except for a few who requested combined shipping. I don't think I will have JD45s to ship until sometime around the end of June or so.

Hey everyone. I sincerely apologize for the lack of progress or updates with this buy. I really dropped the ball on this one.

When PayPal restricted my account following the JD45 buy, it basically sent me into a state of emotional depression. I just haven't had any energy or enthusiasm for the hobby lately. I will take steps to get these sent out and fulfill the buy, though. I really want to get these caps shipped out. This week I will be searching out a new shipping solution, since I can't use PayPal due to my account being limited.

Once again, I am very sorry for the delay. I will do what it takes to get these shipped out.

Will you be able to start similar GBs in the months ahead?

Since I'm not used to Group Buys, what recourse do I have with this? I like this forum as it's helped me learn a lot about keyboards, but it's become apparent jdcarpe isn't doing what he's supposed to be doing. Do I do a PayPal dispute, or just wait for whenever he "feels" like caring? No updates for over two weeks is horrible service. I've already paid, he's had the keys for two months, and nobody has received what they paid for.

Give @jdcarpe some time.

I honestly don't think you'll need to file a dispute but if hell freezes over and you do you've got 180 days from purchase to do so.

As a side note since JD's PayPal is currently locked up which is the hold up as far as I know filing a dispute probably won't help anything.

And if you just can't wait PM me and I'll take over your order.

It seems to me he full intends to fulfill this GB.  From what I know of Jade Carpe, it is simply a matter of time until everything is finalised.

Many group buys do run over - that is nothing unusual and to be expected, as most are being run by one person, perhaps with a very little help.  These are not usually professional distribution companies, just enthusiasts like you and me.

And unless you've opted in for hundreds of keycaps, you won't be out of pocket much at all.

I opted for combined shipping of the Jan and Feb GBs, so I don't have either yet.  But I'm not worried :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've already paid, he's had the keys for two months, and nobody has received what they paid for.

jd is not going to flake. **** happens. The first rule of keyboard club is be patient. Group buys run into snags and delays are usually measured in months. It's the nature of the beast, so best to get used to it.

Like Hash said, delays are almost inevitable with these things. But I do appreciate that you genuinely seem to be asking what to do over just getting blindly upset  :thumb:

I do understand delays suck, lack of communication really sucks more. Often times almost all issues can be solved with solid/constant communication in regards to group buys or a transaction of any kind. In just about every case the FIRST thing I would recommend though is simply trying to sell your spot in any given group buy. This A)gets you refunded quickly and B)prevents slowing the rest of the GB down with a dispute.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I only had concern because he is otherwise a very active poster making it odd for him to be absent this long. The money doesn't worry me so long as it still makes its way to benefiting the forum.

On another note, the line about emotional depression is worry some in that I hoped someone here personally knew him. Perhaps for the purposes of checking on his well-being, and his intentions and potential need for helping hands. Having suffered from depression myself, he probably needs help right now.

Update 6/10/16:
Received a PM back from jdcarpe. He's working on getting money through other means to pay for the shipping cost as Paypal still has his funds locked.
