Will the Spacebars kit be using SP's new convex molds in those sizes?
At the risk of coming off as a complete newbie (because I am) - the TKL kit contains the alphas, right? I was trying to work it out but this is the first time I've seen a TKL set layout image without the alphas included.

Newbie question: are the two R3 rows (in the middle and on the bottom) in Specialties kit interchangeable? Will the 1.5u function key work on the bottom (space bar) row or will its profile be misaligned with the others?They'll match. You can use that 1.5u Function key on either the home row or the bottom row and it'll look just fine. :thumb:

The smaller spacebars aren't convex, it seems SP recently added convex options for these sizes but I didn't get to kit/quote them with that in mind.

You want Alpha and TKL at least.
As for the Meta and 2 blanks, if you want to keep the same key, then you want Specialty + Ortho. Otherwise, you can get the Novelty

Hi everyone, here is the update on SA Espresso's samples.
To summarize the mod color RAL 8017 looks great, while the alphas will need adjustments to get the gradient as we want it.
As mentioned in the post I had selected alternatives for some of the Pantones. 7601 C, 7592 C and 471 C will be changed to a close alternative to adjust hue or saturation.
- 7601 C to 478 C
- 7587 C - Maintained
- 7592 C to 7586 C
- 471 C to 7566 C
Also I want to clarify that I got the samples a few months ago and already gave this feedback, I've just been slow to update you here due to personal stuff. I'll try to be faster in the future.
I was also told that comparing against plastic chips would be better, so the next round will be done like that.

The colors have been approved. Right now SA is two months behind schedule so I've been told the set will be finished during October.

Previously the smaller spacebars could only be concave, but now they can make them convex like the normal 6.25u so I'll let you decide what you prefer.

This is honestly one of the stupidest kitting choices I've ever seen someone willfully make in this hobby. I hope you reconsider for the sake of your buyers, there is zero reason to utilize concave bars over convex bars. And doing so after your community expressed support for the change just shows that you don't actually care what they think.

40% of my buyers didn't want convex, so there is a reason to keep them concave. Even if more people wanted to change to convex (myself included) I'm not gonna change a product after GB if almost half the buyers don't want that.
I have no idea how you can extrapolate from that that I don't care about what they think, but you do you.
You didn't poll your buyers, you polled via a publicly posted google form linked on Geekhack. Unless you emailed everybody that ordered the set, you did not poll your buyers.
You then ignored the majority of responders.
You're acting like it's a noble thing you're doing by not changing the advertised product but it's literally an upgrade with no drawbacks. Concave bars have never been a feature, they have always been a compromise borne of minibars being a recent development in the hobby, and for a long time it was easier to just use existing blanks for other keys, like shifts, rather than develop actual spacebar molds. I am willing to bet that the 40% of people voting against it is a mix of:
1) people who do not know or understand the difference between concave and convex spacebars
2) people who have an irrational fear that the change would increase production lead times
3) people who did not even buy the set voting for ****s and giggles
You, as the designer, are responsible for making informed decisions on behalf of your customers. Kitting feedback is good but ultimately it is on you to make the best choices given the information available. You made a choice that only stands to hurt customers because of some unproven notion that people really want concave bars. I only stress all these points because I do not want future set designers to use this as precedent and use concave bars thinking they're doing something right.
...Feel free to ignore me if it just irritates you, I am just expressing concern because this is a pretty significant go or no-go for purchasers like me.

Yes I know that concave bars were a limitation, obviously if I was sarting a new SA GB today I would use the new molds. It's completely different to make kitting changes before or AFTER the GB. I did the poll for everyone that I could, which is geekhack and my discord. You're right that it would be ideal to poll every single customer but I can't do that, especially since I had limited time to gather customer feedback and make a decision or it would start hurting production times.
I can't read people minds, I'm not gonna assume what everyone wants, I'm gonna use the data that I could gather to make a decision and I'm going to prioritize not making kitting changes after GB unless a significant percentage wants it. If someone bough the set it means they are okay with concave bars or they don't even know the difference, so it's not that terrible to just give them the product they were gonna get from the start. There's several previous SA sets like this, it's fine.
In any case I don't know why you're so worked up, I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm not acting like I'm doing anything noble. Relax.

I think maybe what is frustrating some folks is that, post-SA Mizu (I know it was marketed for SA Dualshot as well), the option for convex spacebars has been known - so there was a missed opportunity out front (some may have even assumed the bars would be convex based on this). Additionally, without stating what "significant" means in terms of a number of buyers voting for a certain option, it's really hard to understand why a healthy majority would not result in a modification being made, especially if you as a designer have polled for input and did not want to be making a decision unilaterally...
I understand the reluctance to make changes after money has been taken and the GB period is over but, to be frank, I don't think you should have polled for this option at all if you did not take additional steps to maximize the number of buyers participating, make a decision based explicitly on the results alone, or use designer discretion if you truly believe convex bars to be a better choice. In my experience, if you request feedback and make a decision that is counter to the feedback received, people are going to lose trust. This is a fair response in my opinion and, while nothing can be done now, maybe this perspective can help clear up the level of frustration in this thread.

Got mine in a few hours ago! Nice to finally have this setup complete. Going to get an extra housing for the GMMK Pro and color it to match, though the black does look real nice. Another project will be the coffee bean or coffee cup dial I plan to model and 3d print in resin. Looks great, thanks for making this happen!Unf. Beautiful. Can't wait to get an extras set.
